Not supported by Linux

Does not work with any version of Linux- do a search for supported printers and you will find that this is not supported as part of the sane-project.

Visioneer One Touch 9420

Excellent negative and slide scanning, software was top notch.

I wish they would have included a larger format for slides, I made my own mask.

Do NOT buy Visioneer scanners!

Nice scanner, as long as you don't plan on upgrading to Windows Vista

I will never again buy a Visioneer scanner. I have an 8900 that I bought new 2 years ago, and have just discovered that Visioneer isn't releasing Vista drivers for it. And it won't work with Vista without new drivers. I'm thus stuck with a nice scanner...

If only the posted resolution actually existed

One touch buttons (once properly configured).

Software crashes every single time I try to scan at high res (2400 x ).

If only the posted resolution actually existed

The install was fine, but the configuration/setup and user interface are not intuitive. I work with computer hardware daily, and can usually use new devices without lengthy manual time, but I did not find that to be the case with this device.

One touch buttons (once properly configured) ; Price (especially with rebate) ; Seems fast (Compared to my HP psc950 all-in-one)

Software crashes every single time I try to scan at high res (2400 x ). The best it will allow is 800 x. Even when only trying to scan small cropped areas at high res. Of course I bought it for the high res specs, so needless to say I am not very...

Works great, more or less

If you use Zone Alarm Security Suite (latest update) the scanner will slow to a crawl. My Epson 3490 & Visioneer 9020 have the same problem. YOU NEED to turn off the Anti-virus/Spyware feature then you scanner will zip along quite happily. Just make...

Product Specifications

Visioneer wrote the book on ease-of-use. The revolutionary OneTouch technology simplifies the way people use a scanner. The OneTouch buttons are pre-configured for common scanning tasks so you get great results within minutes of opening the box. Button settings can be customized to unleash even more power for advanced users. The Visioneer OneTouch 9420 USB is blazing fast. The Hi-Speed USB logo is your assurance that the OneTouch 9420 USB transfers data to your computer up to 40 times faster than a USB 1.1 scanner yet the OneTouch 9420 is fully compatible with all USB ports including USB 1.1. 48-bit internal color capability recognizes over 281 trillion colors. 48-bit scanners capture more detail in the shadow and highlight areas of an image than their 42-bit predecessors, so you'll get brighter yellows, richer reds, cooler blues, and everything between. 4800 x 9600 dpi optical resolution eliminates jagged edges and captures the finest detail from your original. The Visioneer OneTouch 9420 USB includes a built-in backlight and film holder for scanning 35mm slides and negatives. Archive old photos from negatives for higher quality. Just press a OneTouch button to scan and send an image to the destination of your choice. While intelligent default button settings give perfect results on common scanning tasks, the OneTouch preferences utility makes it simple to customize the buttons. The world's best-selling document and image management application creates thumbnails of everything you scan allowing easy filing in color-coded folders. ScanSoft's TextBridge Optical Character Recognition engine is built-in to PaperPort so you can easily use the scanner's OCR button to scan printed text directly into your word processor where it is fully editable.
