Xerox DocuMate 262

The 66-ipm rating for duplex scanning is for 200-pixels-per-inch scans in black-and-white mode. On our tests, scanning to a PDF file, the scanner was just a hair slower, at 65.2 ipm, or 46 seconds for a 25-sheet, 50-page document. Adding an OCR step,...

Scans one side at 33 sheets per minute, or both sides at 66 images per minute. Comes with high-end versions of several programs

Although it bundles PaperPort Professional for document management, it uses Version 9 as tested, not version 10

The Xerox DocuMate 262 scans 33 sheets per minute, which translates to 66 images per minute in duplex mode, making it the fastest scanner in town for anything less than twice its price.

Xerox DocuMate 262 sheet-fed scanner Review and Prices

While one-sheet-at-a-time flatbed scanners have gotten a lot less expensive in recent years, high-end document scanners have held some of their equally high-end pricing. While most users wouldn't call the Xerox DocuMate 262 and its $1,200 MSRP "cheap,"...

Very fast, excellent OCR

Still fairly expensive

WOW! A Fantastic Scanner!

I recently purchased this scanner from ammateroffax.com who's service and lowest price were the beginning of this positive experience. The scanner is compact and fits easily on a standard desk (we were expecting to dedicate a table or stand to our new...

Lightning fast both simplex and duplex. Flexible scan options. Documentation provided ON PAPER IN A REAL BOOK (not just on a CD) for a change

Initial setup can be a bit confusing. A bit pricey for a home use solution, better value for an office environment

WOW! A real piece of JUNK

I have 12 Xerox Documate 252 scanners in my offices. I have had them for 3 years and they all see a LOT of use. So, it was not surprise when 1 of them finally died. I called Xerox about getting it repaired and was informed that they do not repair them....

There is not really mcch to like about this scanner

Very Expensive and highly unreliable

Not a good investment.

We have at least 70 to 80 of this model scanner in a large outpatient Medical group. They are excellent when they are working well, but when they fail they fail hard. For the amount that these scanners cost ( the price of this unit is outlandish ) they...

all good but sqeeks

Having trouble with pulling paper thru tray and making loud sqeeks sound. Maybe a roller issue. Still trying to get it to stop. It is random so hard to fix.

Can't use extended USB cables

I've had the DocuMate 252 for several years, which is very similar to the 262. It was a great scanner -- until I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7. For some inexplicable reason, you cannot use extended USB cables when using the DocuMate scanner...

Product Specifications

There's a lot about the Xerox DocuMate 262i that will make it your favorite desktop device. This DocuMate is packed with features that will change how you look at and manage paper documents and information. The DocuMate 262i is the fastest, most technologically advanced and easiest to use document scanner in its class. The DocuMate 262i is powered by Visioneer OneTouch technology to scan documents to up to nine preset, yet completely configurable, destinations. This means that with the touch of a button, your document is scanned with the proper settings for resolution, color, duplex, auto-crop, autostraighten, file format, and then delivered to virtually any application, folder or device. Imagine the workflow possibilities of delivering paper in a searchable PDF format to email or Microsoft SharePoint or a custom web application for your enterprise, all at the touch of a button. This is not only a productivity gain but greatly reduces the training requirements for scanner users, further helping your ROI. Sometimes in document scanning you don't know what's coming at you. Clean laser quality pages today, but tomorrow there may be multicolored forms, embossed ID cards, varying sizes of paper, 3-hole punches. The DocuMate 262i handles it all. The 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF) makes short work out of any stack of paper of varying size. The front feed tray accommodates scanning plastic ID cards, common in healthcare and financial service applications. The Xerox DocuMate 262i employs a front feed mechanism that not only increases ID card scanning efficiency, but drastically improves roller wear and makes it an extremely cost-effective solution for regulatory compliance. The Xerox DocuMate 262i integrates Kofax VRS image enhancement technology into the OneTouch scanning process. Imperfect originals are automatically turned into perfect scans that are easier to read for the human eye and the computer's eye. OCR results are dramatically improved, file size is decreased and scans look as clear as the originals. And every page is custom corrected automatically so you can batch together clean, laser quality documents with your imperfect originals. The results are amazing!
