Pebble Watch review: A more polished Pebble, thanks to apps

The Pebble watch began its life with a simple proposition: what if a little watch could pair with your phone and run apps right from your wrist? It took about a year, but the true dream of the Pebble has finally been realized: a new Pebble app store...

The Pebble Watch is waterproof, runs a ton of apps, and works with both iOS and Android phones. A new app store improves the whole experience.

A lack of touch screen and multitasking limits the capability of apps; scratch-prone polycarbonate design doesn't feel nearly as impressive as the Pebble Steel.

Thanks to plenty of apps and an affordable price, the original plastic Pebble remains a solid budget smartwatch pick.

Pebble Smartwatch

The smart-looking Pebble smartwatch delivers on its promise of wireless notifications right on your wrist, and while there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out, if developers can get behind the platform, the potential is huge.

Simple, understated design. Easy setup. Instantaneous notifications. Customizable watch faces. Syncs with Android or iOS

Greater iOS app compatibility than Android. Some bugs

After a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $10 million, and nearly a year spent working out the kinks of a grass-roots effort to bring a consumer product to market, the Pebble Smartwatch ($150 direct) finally arrived earlier this...

Pebble Watch Review

The Pebble is a fashionable e-ink smartwatch that displays notifications from your smartphone and offers an array of apps, but the experience is limited on iOS.

Comfortable, attractive design; E-ink display easy to read in sunlight; Robust customization apps; Waterproof

Limited iOS experience; Drains smartphone battery

Pebble Smartwatch Review

Pebble stole Kickstarter's heart, eclipsed companies hundreds of times its size at CES, and got many people reconsidering the role of the wristwatch in today's smartphone-saturated world: not bad for a startup already burned once from a failed...

It's fair to say we're torn over Pebble. After the furore of the Kickstarter campaign, the practicality is a generic-looking watch with basic notification functionality; yes, there's the promise of so much more, but we're nowhere near the point where...

Pebble smartwatch review

The Pebble smartwatch is a lot more than just a watch — it's the latest attempt to turn your wrist into the launchpad for a wearable computing revolution. It's also the preeminent symbol of the Kickstarter hardware revolution. After 85,000 orders, 10...

Looks like a regular watch ; Works well with iPhone and Android ; Solid battery life

iPhone support limited by iOS itself ; Android support limited by app development ; Screen is just okay

The Pebble’s charming simplicity and fundamental competence inspires confidence

Pebble Smart Watch Review

The reality is, the few smart watches available have been overly complex, plagued with issues and in general have failed miserably. Then along came Pebble, a seemingly dead simple concept that absolutely blew up Kickstarter with over $10 million in...

A stylish, wearable smart watch ; High readability display ; Frequent software updates with potential to bring more features

Connectivity issues at times ; Siri compatibility problems ; Probably too large for smaller wrists ; Promised functionality isn’t available yet

Review: The Pebble Watch for iOS and Android

My Pebble watch, Kickstarter Edition, finally arrived last week.

The question in everybody’s mind is: why would you need a watch that tells you when something’s happening on your phone when all you need do is pull the phone out of your pocket? I really don’t know. But the use and need for it becomes apparent in the...
