Lenovo 128 GB 128GB Sata Solid State Drive (SSD) for Thinkpad 43N3406

Bought X1 Carbon last year. Still within warranty, SSD dies out of blue after hybernation. Called the Lenovo service department. Known defect (SSD firmware problem when the drive is about to be full) to Lenovo but they don't fix, only offers to reimage...

Don’t let the numbers fool you: Although it appears to be an older drive due to its model number, Imation’s Pro 7000 is completely competitive with Mtron’s Pro 7500. In fact, their benchmark numbers are close enough that we wouldn’t be surprised to...

Eh it should have lasted longer, SMART had no beef with it. Stopped showing up in the in the system, then was invisible in BIOS. Power cycle would fix it, but not this time.. luckily I ordered a replacement the last time it went invisible.

I have had more success with the 32GB model, maybe I got a bad one, but this is not what I signed up for when I bought it. Replaced with a 32GB from the same manufacturer.

Stick with Newegg, but dump Plextor, it's just not worth the headaches begging them for something that should be freely available to current owners of the drive since it is nothing more than a simple bios update for the SSD.

I use it with persistent cache software (like EBoostr) instead of Windows' built-in ReadyBoost for better cache hit rates (files stay cached across boots). Used this way, it is cheaper than a large laptop SSD and provides a lot of the performance...
