Crucial m4 (64GB)

Sharing the same design and interface as most of the other solid-state drives we've reviewed, the Crucial m4 stands out where it matters most: the price. It's still much more expensive than a traditional hard drive, but the m4 is the most affordable...

The Crucial m4 solid-state drive is competitively priced and offers fast performance. The drive supports SATA 6Gbps and works in all SATA-based storage applications.

The Crucial m4's performance could be better comparatively, and it doesn't come with a drive-bay converter to work with desktop computers.

So far, the Crucial m4 offers the best value among SSDs. Though it's not the fastest, it's by far the most affordable among its peers.

"Could this work in a HP Mini 201?"

I read this article and immediately got the idea that maybe i could purchase this, and plug it into my HP mini 210. ill be purchasing a new pc in the near future, and was gonna format and put ubuntu back on it as i will no longer have the need to back...

The price seems great, and would improve speed over my standard disc drive.

im not to sure if it would work, and the price is a third the cost of my netbook was to begin with.

Awsome Speed for the Price

Works great as a fusion drive in older iMAC 2009. Very fast and quick. had no problems with it since installing in a mac.

Fast, made my own Fusion Drive on my iMAC 2009. It was installed in a Windows 7 machine until the user had trouble with the drive and decided to go with a 1TB platter drive. All it was that it needed was a firmware update. I have the fusion drive...

SSD needed a firmware update but that is to be expected with good quality manufactures

Affordable upgrade

I have only a general knowledge of PC and was able to do this upgrade. If your thinking about taking the DIY plunge on this upgrade do it! Between Newegg, Crucial, and youtube all the info is there.

Excellent upgrade to any one who wants to decrease their boot time and load time on games. Vista went from a 1.5 minute boot time to under 20 seconds

I bought the lap top upgrade kit instead of PC upgrade kit. The clone utility will clone the whole drive and not just a partition

Fast drive, easy install

Data transfer cable did not work, Data transfer CD would not install. If Crucial is listening then you could send me a new data transfer CD and cable

5 Month Update

Didn't need or use the cloning kit, a clean install of your OS is always the best way. I see a lot of reviews claiming that a drive is defective (all brands) because it won't boot after cloning the old drive onto the new, but put the old drive back in...

After 5 months of hard use, my M4 is working flawlessly. I've put this drive through every torture test, benchmark, analysis, installs of large games, uninstalled programs, defragmentation, optimization, cleaning software, partitioning, formatting, and...

Not the fastest SSD out there, although it's speeds are very consistent. That being said, the price is up there with much faster drives, so not really a low-budget solution, but given that it's in the top 3 for reliability, that explains why these...

HORRIBLE

It's a SSD??? SORTA

Drive failed in less than a month...which is to be expected. If a system component is going to fail, it will usually do so withing the first 30 days. However when making an attempt to RMA the SSD, I contacted the online chat on the Crucial website....

Decent Drive with a quirk

Got a surprise about a month ago. I built a high performance video streamer to stream video throughout the facility on digital signage. The the SSD kept cutting out. It would run for a couple hours then die. I called Tech support and the lady told me...

Decent Price, Decent Speed

every 5,000 hours you have to do a firmware update
