Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB review

Bargain-basement pricing, but top-end performance

Decent performance ; Price per gigabyte

3K memory instead of 5K ; Sandforce not the fastest anymore

Very fast drive

No excuse to not get an SSD as your boot drive for the prices they have out now.

Have not had any issues ; Boot time is minimal and loads games very quickly

Wish it had more space

Worked great, but really flimsy sata connector broke

Other than the connector, this is a great drive. Kingston should really replace their connector source with a slightly more robust connector. Granted, most people do not touch the drive after installing it. So its probably my bad.

Very fast (>500MB/sec), seems reliable without any flash failures. Good solid drive. Used it on my every day main machine so it got a fair amount of use

The SATA connector broke when I was doing some work on the machine and tried to remove it. I looked very carefully at the plastic portion that goes into the cable and noticed it was quite thin. Compared it to my intel SSD and Seagate drives. Definitely...

Kingston SH103S3/240G

I have it for almost 3 years installed on a 2009 Macbook pro it is not used intensively, only when I am away from home, so far so good.

Fast compared to regular HDD

The price went down quite a lot but you have to pay more when you do not want to wait too long so not really a Con

Great Drive, but Difficulties Arose

I am going through the RMA process and I will update this review once it has been resolved.

This drive was my first SSD and the increase in speed was amazing. The product worked well for over a year and reduced my boot time by a great deal

I had some initial issues getting my motherboard to recognize the drive. After a year and a half the drive stopped being recognizable at all

2.5 year - not a single problem

I also got those 120GB (blue) from HyperX. Those been sitting in RAID-0 for 3 years without any drama. Really happy & confident to buy HyperX

This SSD is worth to say a good word about it. 2.5 years without any single problem. Well that's the quality right there

None
