Mushkin Chronos Deluxe (240GB)

Even here in late 2012, solid-state drives (SSDs) may seem like a relatively esoteric kind of computer upgrade, familiar only to performance enthusiasts and PC builders. But a few companies with some serious name recognition are making SSDs these...

Available in 7mm and 9.3mm thicknesses ; Fast performance in most benchmark tests ; Chronos Deluxe family available in more capacities than most

4K write performance could be better ; No bundled accessories or software with tested 7mm version ; Slightly pricey other "performance-grade" SSDs

Mushkin's high-end drive delivers impressive performance on most benchmarks, as well as thickness and capacity options aplenty. Just know that you'll pay a bit extra for the 7mm models, and don't expect to find software or accessories in the box.

No Complaints

Installed it 8 months ago, and have both Windows 7 and Ubuntu installed and working fine. Fast boot time

Space is still an issue, even with 120 GB to work with. You'd be surprised how fast it fills up

So far so good.

Bought two of these - not set up in raid. No failures and no problems. Works fast as advertised. Tests on my computer show them 350mb/s read and 260mb/s write. These lower speeds are to be expected since my chipset is x58 even though they are set up...

Garbage

Don't waste your time, look at a different brand.

Fast boots, fast reads, at first

Daily lockups and bsods after a few months, drive begins failing

SSD is the future

Playing Mass Effect 3, was when I noticed it the most. The loading screens which annoyed the shxx out of me in 1 and 2 are non existent on the SSD. 3 seconds 5 tops to load. No more waiting in an elevator!

I finally gave in to my urges and decided to go SSD. I can never go back. It is everything they say and more. Fast boot, fast load fast transfers. I use this drive as my boot drive with 7 Pro. The trim support is great installed with no problems and...

A bit pricey, but nowadays traditional hard drives are pretty pricey also

This thing is fast!!

This drive is on a P67 mobo, 8GB 1600mhz Ram, i5-2500k. Set to AHCI in your BIOS storage section when you boot the computer. I did a fresh install of windows 7 64bit and followed a few guides on optimizing an SSD. No problems and it was a breeze to do.

Extremely fast. I am coming from an SATA RAID 0 5400rpm set up and this just blows it away ; Everything is instantaneous, no loading times in anything I have tried so far ; Highly recommended

Nothing comes to mind, cost maybe if I have to write something

Wonderful

Make sure you download the latest firmware from the Mushkin site, makes a difference in wear leveling algorithms.

Excellent impact on Lenovo y570 laptop. Night and day difference in boot/general loading speeds compared to the previous 5400 RPM 750GB HDD. Thanks to the 560mb/s (according to HDTune) read speeds the data storage is no longer a bottleneck for the core...

Bit pricey at $1.83/GB but heck, its a Mushkin Deluxe so reliability and performance are guaranteed
