OCZ Agility 3 (120GB)

The OCZ Agility 3 is a small step down from its big brother, the OCZ Vertex 3 . The new drive is slower and doesn't include a drive bay converter to conveniently fit in a desktop computer. Other than that, it shares the same design and features as the...

The OCZ Agility 3 solid-state drive supports SATA 6Gbps and offers fast performance. The drive works in any SATA-based storage application and is relatively affordable.

The OCZ Agility 3, though fast, is noticeably slower than other SATA 6Gbps SSDs without being proportionaly cheaper. It's capped at only 240GB, takes a long time to format, and doesn't come with a drive bay converter to fit in a place of a 3.5-inch...

With fast performance and a competitive price, the OCZ Agility 3 SSD makes a very good replacement hard drive for any computer, especially one that has built-in support for SATA 6Gbps.

OCZ Agility 3 2.5" SSD

Over the last year I've had the opportunity to review both ends of OCZ's solid state drive lineup. I've tested the entry level Onyx drive and a couple drives from the high end Vertex series. These drives were at opposite ends of the spectrum when it...

SATA 3 support ; Easy to find on sale (giving you a great SSD for a fraction of the cost) ; Solid performance ; Uses same Sandforce controller as the higher end Vertex 3

"Great drive at a great price."

Bought this product at my local Micro Center store for under $250 for the 240GB model. I think it is the best bang for the buck. Looked at the Vertex 3 also and compared and i do not think I will notice that much of a difference in performance based on...

Fast, low power consumption and price was fantastic.

Non right now.

Lasted 2 years, 2 months, 19 days

I have purchased OCZ in the past and have had no trouble. I like the boot speed on these things and for all intents and purposes that fast boot up is why I use ssd, otherwise they are very short on storage space for the price and in real world...

Price wasn't too bad considering the size. Works like any other drive, just plug it in and go for the most part. Small, lightweight, shock resistant and with no moving parts runs silent obviously. On a clean install my boot time was under 30 seconds....

They claim all kinds of crazy speed on the transfer rates. In real life situations expect around 160mb per second. I can get higher numbers with specialized bench marking software settings to create the ideal conditions for the drive. But thats just...

Bad controllers, stay away

Some OCZ drives work consistently, these are not one of them.

When they work they are fine, not super fast but OK for an intro level SSD

I've had lots of problems with these drives, and they are known for having bad controllers, you can get something much better for the same price or a little less. Stay away

2 Month Review

Maybe I was lucky with the 2 refurbished drives from OCZ so far., but I suggest everyone read up on preparing the SSDs before installation. Takes a little more work than regular mechanical hard drives in my research. Per some of the good advice on the...

My 2nd Refurbished OCZ performs flawlessly so far, much like the now 3 month old 1st drive (1st was a refurbished Vertex 2 100 GB, reviewed early Dec. 2013.) Great buy at less than $0.50 per GB ; This drive seemed to perform faster than a NEW Kingston...

Buyer Beware

Pay for the extended warranty from Newegg. You WILL need it.

Fast

This drive failed during the warranty period. Newegg would not replace it (less than 1 year after purchase). After several emails with OCZ they gave me an RMA. What they sent me as a replacement was REFURBISHED Vertex 3...NOT an Agility 3 like I...

Don't Buy!!!

I/O performance was often reporting below advertised when benchmarked.

Relatively low cost

Drive failure in under a year of normal usage

DO NOT BUY THIS

Good while it worked

Look at the reviews, this drive will die on you. There has to be a reason you are getting a SSD with 480g for so cheap ; I thought maybe it would work for me ; Drive died within 60 days of purchase do not buy this product

OCZ CS SUCKS!!!

I wish there was a way that I could warn everyone on NewEgg about OCZ CS.

Cheap

The drive failed after 3 mos. I have nearly every computer/network related cert acronym and with my extensive knowledge deduced that the drive was dead ; Talk to their CS and they have me do some other tests, fine. It is dead and I get an RMA # on 12...
