Review OCZ Vector 256 GB (VTR1-25SAT3-256G)

Barefoot 3. The OCZ Vector is the latest product to challenge the Samsung 840 Pro for the title of the best performing SSD on the market. This review will throw some light on the giant strides OCZ has made in the development of the Indilinx Barefoot 3...

In the following table, we present all the test values in comparison to the Samsung SSD 840 Pro, the Intel SSD 520 and the Vertex 4. On average, the 840 Pro just barely supersedes the Vector 256 GB. You can clearly see the improvement in performance in...

OCZ Vector 256GB SSD Review

Extremely fast in every test; Looks and feels high quality; five-year warranty

Expensive

Say hello to what most of us would have considered the new OCZ Vertex 5 SSD: the OCZ Vector 256GB SSD. That’s right; this isn’t some offshoot, sub-par asynchronous NAND-using bargain basement drive, but OCZ’s new benchmark-busting flagship SSD, and the...

OCZ Vector 256GB SSD

We have in our labs OCZ' s latest SATA solid state drive, the Vector 256GB SSD. The Vector SSD Series is featuring the company's next-generation Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller and promises to provide exceptional input/output operations per second...

Overall we are impressed by the Vector, as it proved to be a solid step forward for OCZ compared to the Vertex 4, highly competitive to other high-performing SSDs such as Samsung's offerings and still, very reliable and stable during operation.

Review: OCZ Vector 256GB SSD

Today we have OCZ's brand new, just launched, Vector SSD! It sets itself apart from previous drives mostly from the standpoint of having the first entirely in-house controller from OCZ! It also has a metal case, which is nice.

Very, very, very fast ; Looks great ; Nice solid case ; Good price ; Comes with a 3.5" mounting bracket and plenty of screws

Thin form factor makes docks designed for older, thicker, SSDs awkward ; Whacking $10-$20 off the price would make it an unbeatable value

OCZ Vector 256GB SSD Review

The past few months have been quite trying for OCZ. Everything from missed financial targets to rumors of layoffs and class action suits have filled

After all the setbacks in recent months, OCZ needed a new consumer-level product which categorically proved they were still a force to be

Two have now died on me... grr.

Hopefully I can still return these. Extremely disappointed in OCZ. If the product doesn't work with the predominant OS, well... grr.

Worked well when they worked. Very fast until they started dropping like flies

Dead. Bought two of these back in July '13. The first one died within a few months. Second one just died when Windows 8.1 tried to fix drive errors. Neither boot or Windows recognizes either drive. Very frustrating. Enough to turn me back to Vista on...

Good service

The drive did fail but when I contacted OCZ support I was quickly and efficiently taken care of and after a few back and forth email strings I was able to get a refund for my drive at current market value AND they provided me with a shipping label, I...

Drive was fast at first and had a good build to it

The drive failed just after a year of use, it was always a bit slow to boot, and when originally purchased it was much more expensive then other ssd's

Good speed ; go it a a good price

I got it in December, no problems so far, today 10 months later it completely died, I've tried every possible doable fix and switching port, computer, etc. Nothing, not recognized in bios. I am distraught because there was work I did yesterday that...

Worst SSD out there!

None

2 Years... 2 SSD drives... They usually last 8 - 12 months. The drive randomly fails and becomes undetectable in the bios. Just sent another to RMA and I am sure they are going to send me the same refurbish SSD model back :-( I will never by a OCZ...
