Perfict Workstation Card

Recommend this for local "working" copies of data in high end workstations requiring large data reads (3D CAD systems with 1000+ part assemblies for example).

Extremely fast - Do not be fooled by using normal testing methods, I have used multiple different analyzers and they all come out different. I have personally noticed that when moving large amounts of data is where this drive really shines. Normal...

No shielding nor casing over the circuit board and chipset. I would expect better quality in that area for the price. Nevertheless, this does not change its performance ; Price - This was not an issue for me, but I do not recommend this drive for any...

Don't install Win8 Pro!

i7-3930k asus p9x79 pro 16 gb g.skill ram etc. Updated everything possible for win8: bios, all drivers, revodrive firmware, everything, to no avail. And once you go to win8, you can't go back to win7. possibly excepting a clean install. Haven't tried...

Super-duper boot drive with Win7 Pro. Lives up to the hype

Upgraded OS to Win8 Pro, and it's a dog's breakfast. Agonizingly slow. And it just goes wrong unaccountably. Loses capability to use the printer. Freezes the computer, which supposedly win8 is not supposed to do

Always have good backups on hand when using SSDs

400 MB/s transfers are pretty good

400 MB/s transfers for $750? And what are the quoted specs, again? 1500 MB/s? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. So, right, cons? The company are cons ; Anyway, hey, this is the fastest I've ever had an SSD die on me. I mean, wow, 2 weeks. The technology is SO no...

Bad Drive

At least if your going to purchase a card like this, someone should step up and get a replacement to you ASAP.

The drive meets all of the specs as far is speed is concerned

It only lasts 2 days. It gave an error of operating system is missing. It would not reboot, a total loss of data and do I need to say anymore. Contacted OCZ and the help was terrible. An advanced replacement would cost me $1200 to my credit card when I...

Super Fast, Solves the weakest link problem

I wish my RVD had a much larger capcity and my Vertex 4 came in a larger capcity 2TB+. However, Overall, I highly recommend this drive to anyone needing fast Nonvolatile memory.

Have had my Revodrive 3 X2 for over half a year now with almost 900 hours of solid use. It is still showing 100% lifespan remaining from the downloadable OCZ toolbox. I have to owe it to OCZ, they make the best and most reliable Solid State Drives. My...

Did encounter a problem recently with my mb bios set to EFI rather than Non-EFI. The RVD would not boot and was not recognized during a clean Windows 7 Ult 64-bit Installation. Finally had to temporarily set the bios to Non-EFI while installing Windows...

Great..... when they work

I originally purchased the original REVO x2 the day it became available, only to have that one die within 10 days after install. Newegg RMA's it and I was happy with the replacement for the last year and a half. However, last month it failed again....

Fast! I have three of these, one in a Hyper-V server and in an app server. Both show huge signs of improvement with the Revo X3s installed ; The third is in my I7 3690X workstation/gaming rig which ran very nicely. Even saw a significant improvement...

Died in less than a month. Started having BIOS freezes about a week ago and "overclock failures" reported by the BIOS even though the workstation isn't overclocked. Died on day 31 so I can't hand it back to Newegg even though it it spent 3 or 4 of...

Update to review

In my original review I stated a few blue screens and freezes. I need to point out that the drive did have 2 red lights, I didn't notice because it ran fine aside from the 2 ishues in just 2 software,I have since rma it back for return store credit not...

Good drive

I am not a "power user". Boot times in W7 x64 are about 45 sec from button and 14 sec from POST. My Laptop does better with 2 SSD in RAID 0. Overall I am happy with the performance though. However, this is a 5 year upgrade for me so all the components...

Much faster than HDD. Prior had 2 Raptors in RAID 1

Reliability. First drive dead after an hour ; Headache to figure out which MB is compatible. Finally decided to try Asus p9x79 ws and worked flawless. I don't have raid in my computer this time

Consumer review by:

Fast is an UNDERSTATEMENT.

Two Raptors in a RAID 0 array used to be the way to boost performance, but that is downright slow compared to this... If you want speed, SSD is definitely the way to go. I'm glad that I took the risk.

I set it up as boot drive. Benchmarks and speed of every day use is just ridiculously fast ; My machine has a 7.8 Windows Experience Index. The initial setup was with a SATA drive as boot drive, which resulted in a Windows Experience Index of 5.9. Used...

I had to RMA the first RevoDrive 3x2 ; I had to RMA the processor, motherboard, and PSU combination shortly afterward, so I'm not entirely sure the first SSD drive had problems ; There could have been complications due to the previous motherboard...
