OCZ Vertex 3 2.5" (120 GB)

The OCZ Vertex 3 solid-state drive is the second SSD (after the Plextor PX-256M2S ) we've reviewed that supports the new 6Gbps SATA 3 standard. Like the Plextor, the OCZ showed stellar performance in our testing, enough to justify the $500 price tag...

The OCZ Vertex 3 solid-state drive supports SATA 6Gbps and offers very fast performance and up to 480GB of storage. The 2.5-inch internal drive comes with a mounting accessory to fit in desktop computers' drive bays, and is comparatively affordable.

The OCZ Vertex 3 SSD is significantly more expensive than traditional hard drives, particularly the 480GB-capacity model, and takes a long time to format.

With excellent performance, the OCZ Vertex 3 SSD makes an ideal internal storage drive for laptops and desktop computers, especially those that support the 6Gbps SATA standard. Its hefty price tag will make most consumers think twice, however.

OCZ Vertex 3.20 240GB SSD Review

OCZ's first foray into the world of 20nm Synchronous NAND has arrived. Dubbed Vertex 3.20; this is an update to OCZ's highly successful Vertex 3.

OCZ Vertex 3.20 240GB Full Review - Vertex 3 Pushes 20nm Flash

Today we see a branch from one of those tree limbs in the form of the Vertex 3.20. This is basically a Vertex 3, but with the 25nm IMFT Sync flash replaced by newer 20nm IMFT Sync flash. The drop to 20nm comes with a slight penalty in write endurance...

OCZ Vertex 3.20 240gb SSD

Late last year when I reviewed OCZ's Agility 4 SSD, their Vertex series was still the highest performing model they offered. The Vertex offered both speed and IOPS that managed to just slightly outdo the Agility series. In what feels like a short time...

OCZ's move to discontinue the Agility 4 and use the new Vertex 3.20 to fill that price void in the market seems like a good choice. Although the Vertex 3.20 doesn't have

OCZ Vertex 3.20 20nm 240GB SSD Review

OCZ releases the Vertex 3.20 240GB SSD as part of the continued restructuring of its product lines. With 20nm NAND and a LSI SandForce SF-2281 controller the Vertex 3.20 SSD is geared for budget conscious buyers, and today we test it with the other top...

We continue to recommend the Samsung 840 for 200+ GB capacities, due to its great performance in steady state and good-enough endurance. Though the TLC 240GB SSD features slower sequential write speed in most uses this will not be a concern. It is...

OCZ Vertex 3.20 SSD 240GB Review

There are a large number of consumers out there looking for the best price performance ratio and OCZ feel that one of the best ways to satisfy those needs is to take the an older (but not necessarily outdated) range and tweak the model to minimise...

OCZ Vertex 3 SSD – Reviewed

In preparation for a review of the Vertex 4 from OCZ we were given the Vertex 3 to test.

"Excellent drive with a pretty good price tag."

This is a great SSD. To read more SSD reviews visit http://thessdreview.com/

This drive performs amazingly well. The boot ups are very quick and programs open instantly. I love it.

It's still a bit pricey.

"Awesome? only when it works"

While the drive has been replaced its no comfort if the trouble continues/ repeats.

Fast and easy to install

X58 issues described above and finally total crash

"Night and Day"

I read several reviews and was initially put off by various horror stories about drives arriving DOA, but I eventually bought the OCZ Vertex 3 240GB. I upgraded the firmware to 2.11 and first reaction was that W7 Pro Installed in about 10-12 minutes. I...

Ultra fast. Large enough for OS and most software I want to run really fast.

The price is very high.
