Review OCZ Vertex 3 250 GB Solid State Drive (SSD, SATA 3)

Third Generation. OCZ is releasing a new version of its high-end ...

Keeping the energy consumption down is especially important for mobile devices, as it will ultimately have an impact on the battery life. So it seems that the Vertex 3, though fast, does not score highly in this area

OCZ Vertex 3 (480GB)

The 480GB OCZ Vertex 3 is speedy for most tasks, but you?ll pay a fair amount of money for that power.

Strong performance.

Expensive.

OCZ Vertex 3 (120GB)

The 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 solid-state drive offers a lot of speed, but its 240GB bigger brother is still the superior performer.

Very good performance. Supports 6Gbps SATA III.

Expensive. Larger-capacity version of drive is faster overall.

OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS & Patriot Wildfire SSDs Reviewed

Not wanting to be completely married to Intel NAND production, OCZ wanted to introduce a version of the Vertex 3 that used 32nm Toshiba Toggle NAND - similar to what was used in the beta Vertex 3 Pro we previewed a few months ago. Rather than call the...

This new batch of 32nm Toshiba based SF-2281 drives fixes my issue with the 120GB Vertex 3. These drives 120GB are now competitive with both Intel's SSD 510 and the 240GB Vertex 3. For desktop users looking for the best absolute performance at the...

OCZ Vertex 3 (240GB) Review

Three months ago we previewed the first client focused SF-2200 SSD : OCZ's Vertex 3. The 240GB sample OCZ sent for the preview was four firmware revisions older than what ended up shipping to retail last month, but we hoped that the preview numbers...

The OCZ Vertex 3 Review (120GB)

SandForce was first to announce and preview its 2011 SSD controller technology. We first talked about the controller late last year, got a sneak peak at its performance this year at CES and then just a couple of months ago brought you a performance...

OCZ Vertex 3 Pro Preview: The First SF-2500 SSD

For the past six months I've been working on research and testing for the next major AnandTech SSD article. I figured I had enough time to line up its release with the first samples of the next-generation of high end SSDs. After all, it seems like...

I didn't really believe that SandForce could pull it off when I first heard how fast the SF-2000 line would be. Even after CES, I didn't really believe the drives would be this good in real world use cases. Consider me pleasantly surprised.

OCZ Vertex 3 Pro hits the test bench, sets the new single-drive speed benchmark at 550MBps

We're becoming somewhat repetitive in our writing about SSDs -- every next one is that extra little bit faster or better and the crown just keeps exchanging ha...

OCZ Vertex 3 (240GB)

The Crucial and Intel drives occasionally nudged past the Vertex 3 in certain tests: The 510 proved the better sequential writer, in both AS SSD (314.19MBps versus OCZ's 248.7MBps) and CrystalDiskMark (328.3MBps versus 281.2MBps), though at 4KB writes...

Best-in-class performance. Supports 6Gbps SATA III

Very expensive

OCZ's Vertex 3 is the fastest consumer solid-state drive in the 256GB capacity range. But it will cost you.

OCZ Vertex 3.20 240GB Solid State Drive

Sometimes, us engineers have the best logic in the world. One time, in the office, I heard my coworker say, "If I leave a minute late every day for the next sixty days, then I can leave an hour early today." Another time, I was reading the newspaper,...
