OCZ Vertex 460 (240GB)

The OCZ Vertex 460 (240GB) is a mainstream, internal solid-state drive (SSD) that is fast and affordable. A couple of added accessories are the few features that differentiate it from similarly priced competitors.

Speedy. Comes with 3.5-inch adapter. 256-bit encryption support.

Overprovisioning means less usable space than other drives. No 1TB option.

OCZ Vertex 460 (240GB) Review

The last few months have not been easy at OCZ. After long-lasting financial issues, the company filed for bankruptcy on November 27th and a week later Toshiba announced that it will be acquiring the assets for $35 million .

In summary, then, the Vertex 460 is a reasonable replacement for the Vertex 450, but pricing on the old model is actually a bit lower for now when resellers are clearing their stocks.

OCZ Vertex 460 (240GB) Review and Ratings

OCZ's latest mainstream drive is reasonably fast and affordable, though little separates it from the pack of recent drives—unless you're looking for a copy of TrueImage HD and a 3.5-inch drive adapter.

Reasonably speedy for the price ; Support for 256-bit encryption

Uses more power at idle than competing drives ; Overprovisioning means less usable space than other drives ; No 1TB model available

OCZ’s Vertex 460 doesn’t set any speed records, but it hangs nicely with the best of the mainstream-drive pack, while delivering better-than-average setup software and a price that’s very competitive. (At least at the 240GB capacity we tested—the best...

Our review unit of the OCZ Vertex 460 240GB arrived to us here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada from the company's American headquarters in California, USA. Its travel buddy include the OCZ Vector 150 240GB, which we have reviewed not too long ago. If you...

The year was 2003. AMD was making a killing in the enthusiast processor market, and ATI was still an independent company. The Radeon 9500 128MB lives in the shadow of the Radeon 9700 128MB, but all enthusiasts "in the know" would flock to the former....

OCZ Vertex 460 240 GB Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts It looks like OCZ is starting 2014 the right way with the launch of the Vertex 460 Solid State Drive. This drive takes what was already good in the Vertex 450 drive and makes it better, especially when it comes to mixed workload and...

– Great performance, – Improved sustained and mixed workload performance, – Accessories & software package, – 3 year warranty, – Price

– None that I found

OCZ Vertex 460 240GB Solid State Drive Review

Proven reliability from the BareFoot controller, Trusted names make up the major components, Relatively consistent performance

Performance is not quite as good and consistent as expected

The buyout by Toshiba has, as we, know been the saving grace of OCZ and should this sale have not gone through, we would have been saying goodbye to one of the best SSD manufacturers of late. Fortunately though this not been the case and the buyout...

Ordered this after MANY hours of research and have been very pleased with it! No problems, weird issues to report, it was plug & play with my setup! MSI CSM-H87M-G43 Intel G3220 3.0GHz Haswell Dual Core 54W G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB)...

FAST ; Stable ; Excellent Value

Didn't have the winning Powerball numbers already saved. In reality, can't think of anything after 6 months of use
