OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G solid-state drive (480GB)

The Mercury Extreme Pro 6G solid-state drive (SSD) is similar to the OCZ Vertex 3 in more ways than one. It's fast, supports SATA 3 (6Gbps), comes with advanced features, and also takes a long time to be formatted.

The Mercury Extreme Pro 6G solid-state drive supports SATA 6Gbps and offers fast performance. The SSD works in any SATA-based storage application, and its top 480GB capacity version is relatively affordable.

The Extreme Pro 6G's performance as a main drive could be better. The drive takes a long time to be formatted, doesn't come with a drive bay converter to work with desktop computers, and its 120GB and 240GB capacities are comparatively expensive.

Offering fast SATA 3 performance and compatibility, the Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD makes a very good replacement hard drive for any computer, especially one that has built-in support for SATA 6Gbps.

The SSD is overpriced I think

The real reason I am writing this review is just to tell the writer that the saying is " you get what you pay for" . If you are like me save money and look at some other ssd's.

None that I can tell you guys

Ridiculous real-work speed, longest warranty, 6G speed!

Forget benchmarks as this drive may lag in some benchmarks but outperform in others. In real world use, this drive hauls but. I've used the Crucial C300, Vertex 3, and OWC 6G all on a Sata6 connection... and I couldn't tell much difference in their use

Couldn't get another one due to SSD pricing in general. Come on SSD manufacturers, come down in pricing
