Listen to me, spend your money elsewhere!!! The firmware updates were a major hassle and the SSD will die on you on a beautiful day, just to ruin a whole month's work. Do yourself a favor and get a WD Velociraptor or better, they are significantly...

INITIALLY fast, after that their performance will decay to HO-HUM speeds after only 3 months of regular gaming & business usage. BEWARE

Seriously, for the $700 bucks I spent (convincing the wife how much I needed this new technology, how amazingly superior to regular HDDs it was, etc, etc...), I was expecting at least something to defeat a Western Digital Velociraptor (the gaming...

Not up to it

It appears that the SSD rush is a little premature. One of these should last for years. New Egg is the greatest with excellent service.

Fast even after 7 months until a sudden lights out crash. Fast boot times in Win 7 ; Used in a Sony laptop. Longer battery life, runs cooler. Boots win 7 in 30 seconds

The drive failed suddenly and without warning at 7 months of every day use. It just went lights out with no warning at all. This is totally unexpected and should not happen with a SS device. Even the classic HD lasts longer than this. I am not happy ;...

Ordered on 01/16/2010, still going strong.

The disparity between reviews of this product appear to be the difference between those users who realized they needed to update the firmware before use to get TRIM support and those users who did not. Unfortunately, the following is not made more...

Drive degrades then fails in less than 8 months

In response to the previous post on a failed drive Patriot suggested flashing to the latest firmware. The post didn't mention that Firmware updates will wipe out all data, and how do they suggest you get the data off the failed drive anyway?? Basically...

1. Silent. 2. Runs cooler. 3. Was once faster than the 7200 rpm drive it replaced. After 6 months I was lucky to even get 12 Mb/s read

The primary reason for buying it was reliability. A room full of executives half-way around the world are not really interested in how fast my laptop can run chkdsk or whether it will choose to boot up after its done ; When a product claims an MTBF of...

It's a winner

Running several Vista and Win 7s with std disks, and they are close to the same shutdown speeds as this SSD. The difference is that when you fill your box with large file and multiple programs, the SSD is the winner, while the std disk operates more...

Fast start up and shutdown, Noticed dramatic increase in satellite download, closer to actual speed paid for. Runs silently, but if your case fans are noisy, forget it. Expect all SSDs in five years

None at this time

Dead Drive

This drive died after 2 months. It started being unrecognized at boot-up. Wanting to be safe I was doing a complete backup when the drive died completely. It cannot be read at all. This is dead, my data is lost. For the price I am extremely...

I cant RMA them through newegg (I LOVE how easy newegg handles things), so I have to go through Patriot directly.

This looked like a great option. I already have two other Patriot SSDs (Patriot Torqx M28 Series PTX256GS25SSDR) in my machine and I decided to get two more that were newer and faster. And yes...they are fast fast fast

After 99 days one of the new Patriot SSDs died (Patriot Torqx PFZ256GS25SSDR). I submitted an RMA and they are going to replace it. Sure enough, THE DAY I MAILED THE DRIVE to them to replace, the other new Patriot SSD failed. The two original Patriot...

Great with windows 7

Be sure to tweak your computer for ssd drives. Made a big difference in performance and will make your drive last longer. For instance no defragging... Using it with Windows 7.

Speed! Speed! Fast loading times, faster encoding, faster everything. NO stutter. And oh yeah....Speed
