Picked Up The Pace

I don't believe in synthetic benchmarks. I need to see some tangible change in my everyday work load. I upgraded to this from a SATA II SSD and yes, I do see a quickening of some of my video editing tasks. Also, the size is just enough that 75% of the...

Speed. Why else would you buy an SSD? Heat? None. Electric usage? My machine is a pretty hefty rig (oc’ed 2600K, 680 SLI, RAID 5) so any reduction in electric usage is just a drop in the bucket

None so far. Real test will be to see how it is running a year or two from now

no problems whatsoever

A lot of older games run really great. Never going back to disk.

Super, no nonsense performance and reliability

Didn't make Diablo 3 run any better

Plextor PX-128M5S

I like this drive so far. Not as fast as my 840 pro (from benching only) and much faster than any Intel 330 or any reliable SF drives for that matter.

Not a Sandforce controller ; One of the faster drives for its price range ; Effective TRIM

No software, cables, screws included ; Firmware update is not a push of a button, you have to burn the iso and boot from cd, but once done, firmware update was solid and hassle free

SSD Upgrade

This is an update to a previous review. I now have numbers. SSD tweaks that I use: Paging file: 500 MB - 900 MB Disable Hibernation File Minimize System Restore (usually done in Windows 7) Change power plan to High Performance There are others, but...

I've had this Plextor SSD for about 2 months and it has been solid. The sequential read and writes are excellent; similar to my Crucial M4. Shows up as 119GB before Windows 7 installation ; AS SSD Benchmark ; Seq. Read: 263.03 MB/s ; Seq. Write: 195.34...

Excellent product!!

I cloned my 'C' drive with the free Macrium Reflect software and then replaced it with the SSD. Boot time decreased from 90 seconds to 25 seconds, with 12 of those seconds BIOS posting. Software loads, and saves, exceptionally fast. Virus scans went...

Not so sure yet

I installed this in a older PC that was running Win7, due to the original hdd failing - I've still have many of the same problems, not sure if this particular one is defective, or if there is another problem.

Dead On Arrival

Didn't work. Returned for refund.

Drive has worked well for me, easy install.

I backed up my laptop 'C' drive (80 GB) with the free Macrium Reflect imaging software then replaced it with the SSD. Restored from the backup without a hitch. The original hard drive had multiple partitions which I needed to access so bought a 2.5''...

Fast speeds and Reliable so far

I struggled through the OCZ SSD BSODs for far too long so I saw a great deal on this Plextor SSD and am satisfied in 10 days that I've had it. I partitioned this drive up and have tested out Win7, Ubuntu, and Mac OSX in my MBP. Great speeds and no...

Good SSD, but hard to register

Good price (after rebate), compatible with SATA2, but hard to find where to register the product and download the software. I am very comfortable with the light weight.
