Strong overall performance, particularly in random workloads

More expensive than other 256GB SSDs

The Plextor PX-256M5P internal solid-state drive is great for certain specific tasks, but not a clear front-runner in the field.

Fast, reliable SSD

 

When you update your firmware with these Plextor drives, make sure you turn on IDE instead of ACH in the bios, then switch it back after you complete your firmware update.

Fast. Its synthetic benchmark scores are near the top on several different tests, although it is bested by the Samsung 840 on some. It has more consistent read/write arguably than most of the others. Real world performance difference won't exist since...

Price used to be a bit high, but the sale right now makes it well worth it
