Plextor M3 Pro (256GB) Review

If you are an active reader, you might remember our Plextor M3 review from a few months back. As I noted in the review, I wasn't expecting much when I received the SSD; a Marvell based SSD from a relatively unknown brand when it comes to the SSD market...

Plextor M3 Pro 256 GB SSD Review

A brilliant combination of speed and reliability.

Fast performance, synchronous memory, custom firmware that improves Marvell controller performance, Acronis disk cloning utility bundled, full aluminum body acts as heatsink

Tricky to update firmware

The last bit I want to talk about the Plextor M3 Pro is that it comes bundled with a 3.5mm bracket (plus screws), a molex to SATA power cable as well as a copy of Acronis True Image for backing up the data from your old hard drive.

Plextor M3 Pro 128GB review

Plextor isn't widely known for its SSDs, but many more firms are now producing their own solid-state products. Plextor's M3 Pro is the latest to challenge the Patriot Pyro SE 120GB, our current favourite.

A superb turn of speed and reasonable price make this the best SSD we’ve seen yet
