Plextor PX-256M2S 256GB SSD

Solid State Drives were said to get popular and it appears, that's happening. A majority of people though are still clueless as to what an SSD is. There are those who think of them as external drives or larger capacity flash drives. In India, SSDs are...

It’s clear that the Plextor PX-256M2S is an impressive performer. The read, write and copy tests were all way higher than any drive we’ve tested, so far. The inter-copy drive testifies that. Usually, even the fastest of hard drives crawl at 40 - 60...

Plextor PX-256M2S 256 GB solid-state drive (SATA 6Gbps)

The GB Plextor PX-256M2S solid-state drive (SSD) shares the same design and 256GB capacity cap as the Samsung 470 . However, it supports the SATA 6Gbps standard and showed noticeable better performance in our testing, enough to justify its $600 price tag.

The Plextor PX-256M2S solid-state drive supports SATA 6Gbps and offers great performance. The drive works in any application where regular SATA 2.5-inch hard drives are used.

The Plextor PX-256M2S SSD is more expensive than traditional hard drives and even some other SSDs, and its storage capacity caps at only 256GB.

With excellent performance, the Plextor PX-256M2S SSD makes an ideal internal storage drive for laptops, especially those that support the 6Gbps SATA standard. Its price tag is not for the faint of heart, however.

Plextor PX-128M2S (128GB)

Because of the way SSDs operate, comparing speeds across capacities is seldom useful; higher-capacity drives are almost invariably also going to be faster (at least up to a point). PCMag is working on testing additional 128GB drives, and will report...

Supports 6Gbps SATA III. Includes Acronis TrueImage software

Slower than higher-capacity drives. No 3.5-inch mounting bracket included

The 128GB Plextor PX-128M2S offers modest capacity and modest performance at a modest price (for a solid-state drive, anyway).

Plextor PX-128M2S review

Can this second generation SSD drive hold its own in a crowded market?

Sequential read performance ; 6Gbps interface

Overall performance isn't consistent across the board ; It's a bit pricey

Plextor PX-256M2S review

Plextor is probably best known for its optical storage products such as DVD and Blu-ray drives, but with the M2S solid-state drive series, it looks intent on making a name in SSD storage too.

As an OS boot drive, te Plextor PX-256M2S may prove to make a host PC feel slightly less zippy than drives with lower headline speeds but better juggling of small-file data chunks. But there’s no escaping that this is one fast solid-state drive. For...

Plextor PX-128M2S 128GB review

The PX-128M2S is the first solid state disk we've seen from Plextor. The 2.5in 128GB SSD supports both SATA2 and the faster SATA3 interface. Like all current generation SSDs, it also supports the TRIM command, which helps with disk performance in...

Impressive SATA3 performance, but you have to pay a premium for it.

The Plextor PX-256M2S is a high performance SSD that exploits the latest 6Gbps SATA bus to score incredible sequential read/write speeds.

Plextor M2S 256 GB SSD

And though it would hide inside laptops where nobody can see it, the company has still given it an attractive metal brushed exterior finish. The drive supports SATA 6 Gb/s interface, which is supposed to provide higher throughput and faster data...

The SSD is ideal for those who want capacity with decent performance on their notebooks, and are willing to pay a premium for it.

Lasted 10 months

Won't boot past the windows splash screen. Windows System Repair disk finds no problems. Tried to reinstall Windows, but on restart, begins the entire install again. $217 for 10 months worth of use? OUCH!!

Worked great

until it didn't

Not a single problem

Nice to have a silent computer.... no HD rattling away when you do something. I've installed the quietest fans i could find, and set-up Fan Xpert so they only run as fast as they need to. Win7 64 Pro. Sabertooth X58 Motherboard Intel Core I7 960 3.2ghz...

Win7 64 boots to internet in 45 seconds from pressing the power button. Only getting 6.9 on WEI, even though it's running SATA III @ 6gps. I probably need to update the firmware, but i'm happy the way it's running now. I waited 4 months to review it to...

Don't think there is one..... Price? You get what you paid for, so price isn't a con
