Consumer review (newegg.com)

Worked great for about one year and 40 days, then total failure.

I have a Kinsington SSD that is about four years old, I guess it's the one I'm going to have to go back to

It was a pretty good deal of the time but perhaps I should've paid more for something that would hopefully be more reliable.

It stopped working 40 days after the warranty was over

Died after 1 year of use.

Refused an RMA on the "3 year warranty" because it was not registered in the first 90 days! What a waste of money! I will never buy another PNY product again for myself or my clients.

It's an ssd. It's faster than the hard drive it replaced (until it died).

Died after 1 year of use.

Great Product - Lousy Warranty

It is a shame they advertise a three year warranty but it is only 3 years if you jump through a few hoops for every drive you purchase. Really cheesy way of doing business! They just lost ours!

Fast

One year warranty READ THE FINE PRINT unless the drive is registered within 30 days of purchase.

An okay drive, with a bit of an attitude

For what you can get now a days, especially from companies like Mushkin, ADATA and SanDisk, I can't recommend this model SSD. I have owned products from PNY before this (USB Flash drive, DDR Memory), and was underwhelmed with every product. If you can...

Migrated my system from a 128GB SanDisk SSD, and noticed a marginal performance increase. It works for the most part, but I may have gotten a drive with an attitude problem.

Has the habit of making bad disk writes every so often, which causes issue with shutting down and booting. This issue occurred across Win7, Win8.1, and now Win10 in both SATA and AHCI modes. Maybe a QA oversight, but not really a total deal breaker.

Bottom of the barrel junk

I would never recommend any PNY SSD's to anyone, except people I do not like. LOL I would not purchase it again, I would buy a Samsung or Intel. I would change my product review if they replace my product with one that works. LOL

NONE, stay away from all PNY products

After 2 months I noticed a slow down on my HP Z800 workstation. I purchased a Samsung 850 Pro just in case this died, migrated my data and the performance on the Samsung is amazing. Never had issues with Samsung or Intel, tried the cheaper bottom of...

Died after a year

I've heard Samsung makes the best SSDs, so I will probably spend a bit more and buy a Samsung next time for hopefully a reliability, speed, and customer service advantage. Also, 240gb is pretty small- about only big enough for the system and only a few...

A big step up from a HDD- especially helpful with system and game load times. Speeds up photo editing if you're dealing with high-res RAW and JPEG files.

It was a good drive for the most part but it crashed right towards the end of one year- which is quite inconvenient to say the least. I submitted an RMA to PNY via their website and they did send a replacement once I sent the drive back, the slightly...

Atrocious

PNY Optima 2.5" 480GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSD7SC480GOPT-RB. Worst purchase I have ever made through this site

Drive conked out. Ordered it a while ago but didn't use it up until a few months ago. Only lasted 5 months for me. Extrtemly poor drive

Died after 1 year, horrible support

I will never buy a PNY product again and will be sure to tell everyone about their misconduct.

Worked just fine for about 1 year, although slower then other drives

The SSD causes windows to freeze when plugged into a SATA port. effectively making the drive useless for anything other then an external SSD via usb. Tested on multiple known good units. I was denied my RMA request because I did not register the SSD...

Warranty is not 3 years as stated

Buy your SSD from a company that stands behind their products

Decent performance

Actually only has 1 year warranty
