Seagate 600 SSD

The Seagate 600 is the manufacturer's first consumer solid-state device, and it's a great first effort with some unique features.

Good price/performance ratio relative to its primary competition

Significantly cheaper, albeit lower performing, drives are available

Just a few years ago, it seemed unlikely that Seagate would ever release an SSD. The company's outspoken CEO, Bill Watkins, roundly dismissed solid state drives in 2008 and 2009, even going so far as to imply Seagate would file lawsuits against upstart...

Won't Recognize

I just got this drive today. My macbook will not recognize it using a usb tool. I am a computer technician and I do this all of the time. Boot Camp recognized the drive but Windows always said the drive was "Not Ready." I tried it in a standalone PC...

Great for AMD based systems

I've used 3 different brands of SSD's (Intel, crucial & seagate) on this AMD based rig & found that the Seagate SSD performs better on a AMD based rig. I used CrystalDiskMark to benchmark each SSD (separately) & the Seagate SSD had the better numbers....

Excellent SSD!!

I purchased this drive for $130.00 during Black Friday. Great deal at that price. 4770K @ 4.55Ghz Corsair H110 ASUS Z87-Pro V Edition 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix 1866 CAS9 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 MSI GTX 770 2GB Coolermaster HAF-XB Dell U3011

This SSD has performed perfectly from day 1. It outperforms the Crucial M500 and often can be had for less ; ATTO ; Read: 555 MB/sec ; Write: 470 MB/sec

Didn't come with a SATA III cable

This drive looses two stars because the Seagate software (downloaded from the manufacture's site) is garbage, although not acknowledged by Seagate their software is known not to work with most Asus motherboards, as well as other models of other brands....

Great speed ; Good size ; Price

Seagate software

Nice and speedy

I'm using this on an older motherboard so the SATA 3 capabilities and not be used to their full potential, but even so the drive is very fast.

Very happy with the performance of the drive and the capacity. I'm using it mostly for storing games and Windows, and everything is significantly snappier and quicker. I'm very pleased

None so far
