Bummer

Good luck if you buy this drive.

It sounds great in writing

For the life of me, i can't get Windows to find the drive. My system sees it in the bios, but neither WinXPpro x64 or Vista Ultimate x64 can find the drive to install to it. I don't see drivers or much info for troubleshooting anywhere for it. I'm out...

Fastest drive, period!

I've read the reviews here and looks to me that some people don't know what they are talking about as they are referring to a DX version. This is NOT a DX. This is the MX or the fastest drive out there. This baby is 25-50% faster than a WD...

By far this is the quietest (silent), cool (no heat), fastest drive I've ever owned

A word to the wise....

The Egg rocks!

I don't own this drive....yet. I am writing this to save people some misery. There are a couple known issues with SSD's and Vista. Read the web on it. Some of the problems here looks suspiciously like these issues. Buyer beware. Do your homework

Hmmm

Having a little buyers remorse to be honest. SSD seemed like a cool idea at the time, but if I had my money over again I'd buy a second WD Velociraptor instead and have $100 to spend on something else.

quiet (read silent), cool, fairly quick

This is the second drive I owned (for an exchange). The drive failed after 3 hours of use. The error code was 80h means "Drive not ready". Returned for refund

Recieved defective drive

If you want to use your laptop (especially a tablet like mine) on the go and are willing to take the risks (quality control issues), then a drive such as this may be worth it. However, don't believe the hype about huge thermal savings with a SSD. Also,...

Using HD Tune, this drive maintains a steady throughput - 50-70 MB/sec read, 25-35 MB/sec write, 0.5 ms access time. Compared to the Scorpio that comes with the TX2120US, heat is about equivalent, load times are snappy, and weight difference is...

The drive I received began failing to detect the OS on bootup with increasing frequency. Based on other negative reviews I read online, this technology needs time to mature.

Great Entry Level SSD

Fast Drive, loads everything fast, write speeds are slow, but that can be expected because of the price

Fast

Died

Sad it died and hope it was just a defect and not common bad QC on Super Talent. Overall, while I got to use it for 10 minutes while it had actually loaded the OS, it was very smooth to run vista.

Faster start times and loads. No moving parts.

The drive I got died after installing vista and its 64 bit drivers. Might be just a defective drive, but it also ran hotter (under vista install) then a normal hdd would under HEAVY use.
