The Toshiba Q300 SSD Review: Toshiba Becomes a Retail Brand

Our review of the OCZ Trion 100 hailed it as "Bringing Toshiba to the Retail". The Trion 100 was branded as an OCZ drive, but it was almost entirely developed and manufactured by parent company Toshiba as their first non-OEM SSD. A few months later,...

From a product standpoint the Trion 100 did a good job of keeping pace with the price drops over the past several months, but neither it nor the new Q300 are sufficiently differentiated from the rest of the entry-level market. Now that Toshiba is...

Toshiba Q300 Solid State Drive review

There's no reason to recommend the Toshiba Q300 over any of the alternatives.

The Toshiba Q300 is perfectly serviceable, but it isn’t competitive with alternatives from Samsung, Crucial, PNY, and others. In terms of price, fit and finish, and even such incidentals as packaging, there’s simply no reason to choose the Toshiba...

Toshiba Q300 SSD review

Marketed as a solid-state drive (SSD) for "everyday computing" as stated on the specs sheet, the Toshiba Q300 SSD is set to compete directly against the recently reviewed entry-level Plextor M6V , which offers fast performance at a low cost....

The Toshiba Q300 solid-state drive offers a significant speed boost to computers with traditional hard drives.

The suggested price is high and its performance is slow compared to that of other solid-state drives. It includes a relatively short three-year warranty.

Slow and expensive, you'll want to steer clear of the Toshiba Q300 until there's a big price cut.

Toshiba Q300 480GB SATA SSD [Review]

If you are still running your operating system from a traditional hard drive, I want you to slap yourself in the face. Why? You are doing your computing wrong. Sure, a mechanical hard drive is great for storage, but your OS will absolutely fly with a...

Toshiba Q300 (960GB) Review and Ratings

Competitive on performance, but not on price, the Q300 is a solid SSD upgrade that needs a price drop to emerge from big shadows cast by Samsung and Micron.

Marginally speedier compared to other SATA SSDs

Pricing per gig is a bit high ; No complementary software (yet) ; Unremarkable bundle

For the past two years or so, a lot of SSDs that have hit the market have offered similar performance, due to the fact that they all use the SATA 6Gbps interface. SSD makers have optimized their drives over that time to the point that there isn't much...

Toshiba Q300 480GB (2016) review

Here's our review of Toshiba Q300 (2016) which competes with the very best SSDs out there, while also being affordable.

The Toshiba Q300 480GB (2016) SSD is cheaper than most of its competitors and yet is able to provide a fantastic all-round performance. If you're looking to upgrade or build a budget system, then the Q300 is a solid choice.
