I wanted to move all my mp3 music off my computer and onto an external hard drive. After reading the reviews for hard drives on Amazon I had to wonder why on earth anyone would even consider buying one. There was complaint after complaint about...

Flash the firmware from the controller chipset manufacturer (Phison) and it gets a lot faster (do it before you put any data on it)

When the drive fills up, it tends to slow down a bit...Try and keep 15% or more space on there and it's fine.

Don't buy. Verbatim seems to be using an old firmware V18. On the web there is newer firmware (V30) but unfortunately not on Verbatim's web site. From researching I found that this SSD slows down with the original firmware when it fills with small...

This drive is in a sturdy metal case. Seems to work very well (I did not benchmark test it). Excellent price for mine.

The SATA interface broke on mine. If you do buy one of these I would recommend handling it with great care as the plastic used for the interface seems to be very easily broken.

Verbatim 128GB Black SSD

Gave a new lease of like to my 5 year old Acer PC . Boot up and shut down and almost instant. The PC loads up windows files and program files much quicker too. Drive its self looks well made with a metal body. A real upgrade for 50 quid

Only bad point is the drive comes with no cables no adapters to convert to a 3.5 bay if using on a desktop system.

Great replacement product from standard HDD on an old ThinkPad laptop. It's quite, fast boot time and just works.
