Harman Kardon SB 16 Review

Gone are the days where the concept of a sound bar was alien to the masses and restricted only to audiophiles. The reason why many people are acquainted with the concept of a sound bar is mainly because the price for them has dropped drastically over...

The Harman Kardon SB 16 is available in India at a MRP of Rs. 34,990. This is a speaker system that is designed primarily for those willing to own a speaker system from a big brand that is at a somewhat affordable price. The SB 16 is not highly priced...

Harman Kardon SB 16 Review

Home speaker systems can be a complicated matter. Even with wireless speakers, surround sound setups usually involve bulky hardware spread across your living room. Harman Kardon believes it has the answer, though, with the SB 16: a $599.99 soundbar...

Performance for movies and TV is stronger than for music, though the SB 16 does a good job holding its end up there too. A separates system might deliver more authentic surround sound or better music performance, though at the price of more complex...

Harman/Kardon SB 16

At first glance, the Harman Kardon SB 16 might seem like a hard sell. It's a $600 sound bar system, which is more expensive than many competitors, and it features a jumbo subwoofer that's sure to rankle those who believe "less is more" when it comes to...

The Harman Kardon SB 16 has excellent sound quality for a sound bar. Its exterior design is also a cut above budget sound bars, and its two digital audio inputs should be enough for basic home theaters.

The subwoofer's giant footprint may be too much for some buyers. The SB 16 also relies on your TV's remote to adjust volume, which may result in annoying onscreen messages on some HDTVs. And $600 for a sound bar is more than many are willing to spend.

The Harman Kardon SB 16 features a premium price tag and some remote control quirks, but its excellent sound quality and exterior design make it worth the extra cash.

harman/kardon SB16 Sound Bar & Wireless Sub Review

So, I hear your wife won't let you install a real 5.1 system in her living room... Wait, let me try that again. So you're in an apartment and can't hang those surround speakers on your ceiling... Whatever the reason, soundbars are a viable alternative...

Harman Kardon SB 16 – Awesome quality

Harman Kardon SB 16 might look like just another sound bar but take a look at the quality and you will be astonished. The cost of this system is a bit high at $600 but it is totally worth the money. The system has a big bulky subwoofer which...

"EASY SET UP....NO REMOTE ISSUES"

Connected to 4 year old SONY 52" LCD. Under MENU: disabled the speakers and enabled the SOUND SYSTEM option. Pressed two buttons on the soundbar to allow it to search for my DirecTV remote. Touched the volume button on the remote and an instantaneous...

Higher priced but worth it.....awesome sound....5 minute set up from box to functioning.

Big subwoofer but generates excellent sound. Placed it upfront in a corner as suggested.

Disabled Speaker Message Workaround

We easily circumvented the annoying "speaker disabled" popup by not disabling the TV speaker as recommended by H/K and instead sticking in a male/male headphone extension cord into the TV's headphone jack. Then we paired our remote with the soundbar as i

None that I am aware of

HDMI Inputs?

As someone who is in the market for a new Sound Bar I was initially very interested in this product. Unfortunately, the lack of HDMI inputs/output is a non-starter in today's A/V world.

Harmon Kardon is known for making a reasonably priced quality product

Why are there no HDMI inputs

Consumer review by:

no hdmi is fatal as far as I'm concerned
