Altec Lansing inMotion Classic review: Altec Lansing inMotion Classic

Altec Lansing inMotion Classic

The inMotion Classic is an iPod- and iPhone-compatible speaker with an attractive design, FM radio, remote control, and a powerful sound that defies its compact size.

Station presets can only be managed with the remote control; the dock doesn't secure the iPod while the speaker is being carried; and there's no AM radio or Bluetooth.

The Altec Lansing inMotion Classic offers a stylish way play your iPod or iPhone around your home. It sounds remarkable for its size, but it lacks the low-end oomph of a larger system.

Review: Altec Lansing inMotion Classic and Compact

You can't go wrong with either of these Altec Lansing units. If you need more portability, and you don't mind using AA batteries in exchange for better battery life, then go with the Compact. If you prefer a built-in battery, along with the luxuries of...

The Compact’s design is especially clever. At 9.5 inches wide, 4.7 inches tall, and 1.8 inches thick, the system is decidedly portable, and it’s ensconced in its own permanently-attached, protective cover that latches snugly shut. When you’re ready to...

Review: Altec Lansing inMotion CLASSIC

I've never had a great iPod speaker.  I bought a cheap one at Kroger that didn't last a month.  It also required you to have it hooked to the wall all the time which limited its use.  The inMotion CLASSIC that Altec Lansing sent me solves both the...

If you're buying a speaker system for portability, good sound and ease of use, then this is your speaker system.

It is an easy, portable speaker system with good sound. it has a cool retro style like a boom-box, a convenient FM tuner, a simple to remote control, and a long battery life

It's not as loud as some competitors speaker systems because of it's value and size. Also, some of the design features do not seem as modern as some of the competitors

Altec Lansing inMotion Classic

The inMotion Classic is an iPod and iPhone speaker dock with a built-in FM radio and 3.5mm input for external sources. It comes with a mains adaptor for indoor use and to charge your iPod, or it can deliver five hours of untethered sound from the...

Bass reproduction is satisfying for most types of music, but we weren't convinced for dance tracks such as Goldfrapp's Number 1 and Madonna's Jump, which left us wishing for more oomph. Other tracks, from finger-picking guitar folk to big-haired 1980s...

Altec Lansing - inMotion Classic

There are lots of devices into which you can plug your iPod or iPhone in order to share its music with others or simply listen to it for yourself through speakers rather than headphones. Added value ...

The inMotion Classic is a fair portable music system delivering reasonable but not outstanding quality output. More radio presets, a protective sleeve and a printed manual would all have been welcome.
