Altec Lansing InMotion iM414 review

Unlike the vast assortment of speakers available for Apple's iPod and iPhone, the speaker options for Microsoft's fledgling Zune portable media player are few and far between. Fortunately, most accessories made for the Zune are fairly high quality,...

The iM414 speaker dock for the Microsoft Zune includes an FM radio and a remote control, is battery-powered, and has an impressive sound for its small size.

There's no clock or alarm feature, and its volume range is timid.

The Altec Lansing iM414 scores big with its classy, portable design, but comes up short on features and power.

Good for office, but not home

I love my 80gb Zune. The interface and devise are very good, and the market place is starting to get much better. The real problem is the lack of speaker dock's availible. This one is perfect for your desk at work, once you get used to the buggyness of...

Great for your cubicle because it gives you decent sound, but it doesn't carry far if you don't want it to. Decent sound. Fits all Zune's

Buggy software. I bought two of these for home and office. The one for home died after 8 months for no reason. Sometimes when you plug the zune in, the im414 will just shut off. There's no play button on the dock. Remote is okay, but you can't navigate...

I could use the old one at parties but this one is drowned out by the crowd.

see cons

Only new features are things that you don't need. Aux port (Great...I'm pretty sure you can just plug the zune into the zune port) and Radio (Once again the Zune already has a radio feature). It's also NOWHERE near as loud as the old model that was...

Limited remote options, no alarm clock, sound is good

Overall I like the iM414, although I'd never pay $... for it, I got mine quite a bit cheaper. The sound is pretty good and the FM antenna picks up stations well. However, when the Zune is docked, you cannot scroll through the remote to change albums,...

Love it!

I've only had mine for a few days but I love the sound quality, the remote and the portability (which only requires 3 AA batteries). It played for hours on battery power and had no problems. I only paid $.. for it on clearance so I think that's why I...

After a couple months just stopped working....

Bought this around Christmas and it worked pretty well. Sound quality is not bad. It's extremely frustrating finding a variety of Speakers/Docks for the Zune. So when I saw this at Target, read the reviews; I decided to buy it. However, about two weeks...

Altec Lansing inMotion iM414 - Listen to your Zune out loud!

I admit it - I've fallen completely in love with my Zune. And why not? With its great sound, it has turned into a near-constant companion for my ears. But what about when I want to share my music with others? Or, when I want ...

Terrific sound quality, charges the Zune while in use, convenient remote

Dumb power button, screen doesn't stay lit, remote has no lights
