Review: Altec Lansing Orbit-MP3 iM207 Portable Audio System

The pocket speaker market for iPods and iPhones has traditionally been dominated by a single type of listening device: a pair of small speaker drivers, mounted in an iPod-width tube or box, and designed to sit on the iPod's top or bottom. We've liked...

A simple and highly portable, large pocket-sized speaker that works with both iPods and iPhones, using three AAA batteries for 24 hours of run time. Provides relatively rich sound that continues to sound very good at higher volumes. Neutral black,...

Single driver design has no stereo separation ; system is device-agnostic and doesn't provide any type of iPod or iPhone dock. Full-range speaker inside is good across entire range but a little weaker in treble than competitors. No power port or...

This isn't to say that Orbit-MP3 is perfect. We really liked the way Altec blended the power switch with the speaker grille, but found that it rarely shifts perfectly into either the "on" or "off" position on your first try. In addition to its lack of...

Review: Altec Lansing inMotion

The iPod is designed to be listened to by one person, or maybe shared with a headphone splitter among two. For anything more than that, connection to a stereo or computer speakers is a requirement. Unfortunately, that results in a few bulky pieces of...

Easy set up, small, surprisingly good sound from small speakers, doubles as an iPod dock, carry bag included, AUX input

Price tag, and simple design might put some off, almost all cases incompatible

The Altec Lansing inMotion speakers are an excellent extension to the iPod for the right niche of consumers.

Altec Lansing inMotion Air iMW725 review

Low price, sound quality, reliability, USB dongle for lossless sound, multi-room possibilities

Drab styling, no Apple AirPlay

The maker of both the first iPod docking station and “Works with iPhone” speaker system has turned its back on the latest AirPlay spec to configure its own Bluetooth-based wireless speaker - and it’s an absolute steal. Carefully thought-out and...

Altec Lansing Orbit speaker review

Portable speakers need to be small if they are going to be truly portable. They should also allow you to share the music with the most people at a picnic or something. In steps the Altec Lansing Obit, a small round speaker that promises to give 360...

360 degree sound, size, weight

Only one speaker, no AC charging option

This has got to be one of the smallest speakers we've seen on the market that actually performs

Altec Lansing Mix BoomBox iMT810 Review

Altec came to limelight with the introduction of the BoomBox iMT800 in the year 2009. It was an iPod/iPhone portable speaker dock. This year it has come up with the all new Altec Lansing Mix BoomBox iMT810. The two devices are almost the same but for...

Comes in a retrolicious design ; Excellent sound quality ; Built-in FM radio ; High build quality

Expensive ; No video outputs ; No included rechargeable battery option

Our Altec Lansing Mix BoomBox iMT810 Review shows that this new device is sure to add some extra entertainment in your party. Compatible with Apple iPod and iPhones, it combines style with technology. Also, this new gadget comes at a price, which can...

Altec Lansing InMotion iM207 Orbit Speaker

The iM207 is a small stand-alone speaker for those on the move, intended to be plugged into various sound sources - an MP3 player, iPod, your mobile phone or computer for example.

Having recently reviewed the I was interested to see how Altec Lansing served the lower end of the market. Where the iM600 is a top of the range stereo speaker system specifically aimed at the iPod - this time we're looking at a small circular...

Don't complain about the switch - Fix it!

HOW TO FIX THE SWITCH--- Take a very dull table knife or small screwdriver and gently pry the silver ring loose from the body of the speaker. Then take a q-tip , dip a small amount of liquid soap on the q-tip.and rub a small amount of the soap on the...

1. Light-weight and sturdy ; 2. Very good sound quality ; 3. Long battery life ; 4. Ridiculously low price ; 5. Absolutely perfect for backpacking

Great Little Speaker

Definately worth $10-20 - not sure about $30. This little guy is great for people who travel a lot for work and like to listen to music on laptops/iPods in hotels. I use my in the bathroom sometimes for a little shower/shaving music. Take is with me...

Great Size, Batteries Last, Sound is very solid, compact efficient design

Would like a little "on" light - but I realize that would probably use more battery (though not much)

Great little speaker

Ring switch works fine, don't let that deter you. In my opinion a normal switch would have been better.

Got it on sale here at a very good price. Battery life is outstanding using Energizer 850 mAh rechargable NiMH. I've been pretty happy with previous Atlec Lansing audio products and this one is no exception

Ring switch around the top is strange and uncomfortable to turn on and off. It'd be really tough to turn on if you only had one hand
