Status symbol or speaker?

For day-to-day use, sitting at your desk with the speakers both pointed at your face and within 3 feet, these will work great. However you will experience similar and sometimes better results with lesser priced speakers. Note: not for use as reference...

The Bose Music Monitor speakers are compact and use very little power for the amount of sound they put out. Fidelity is good at lower listening volumes. Saves on desk space

Bose M2

The Bose M2 are the lower end version of the music monitor. They came out in Japan a few years ago with the higher end Bose M3(they had a stronger bass and could take 4 AA batteries) I was orginally going to get those but the M3's were limited and only...

These speakers are very well made. Paired with a good soundcard they are extremely clear(low and high). They are made with aluminum, very compact, and quite heavy for speakers of that size, which is good

Price. They were $400 now $300(still expensive)

Bose Computer MusicMonitor

Limited by their size but still provide an enjoyable sound and portable desktop audio solution… at a price

Well balanced sound ; Impressive clarity throughout mid and high frequencies ; Low distortion ; Portable, stylish design

Bass light ; Dynamically restricted ; Small soundstage ; Expensive

They come at a price, of course, but if you’re looking for good-sounding speakers that will take up minimal desk space and can go wherever you go, you could do a lot worse than cough up the cash for these.
