Bose Computer MusicMonitor (silver) review

If you're thinking about upgrading from the speakers that came with your computer and small size and high style rank among your biggest concerns, you're probably the ideal customer for the Bose Computer MusicMonitor stereo multimedia speaker system....

Compact Bose PC speaker system; tiny cast-metal cabinets; remote control for power and volume.

Very expensive; no headphone jack; size limitations affect sound quality for movies and games.

The tiny Bose MusicMonitor computer speakers are ideal for buyers who need the smallest possible speakers, but you can find better-sounding--albeit much larger--alternatives at this price.

Sweet PC Sound

Bose is better known to the general public for its QuietComfort headphones. Now, in its Computer MusicMonitor, the company has some very small, very expensive computer speakers. A Bose representative told me that the concept behind the Computer...

Clarity in mid and high frequencies. Upwardly angled for desktop listening. Sleek and compact design. Powerful output.

Overpriced. Very little low-end presence. Remote is limited.

The Computer MusicMonitor has a pleasant, crisp delivery but lacks bass presence and costs a whopping $400. Bose should at least add some extra features to the remote to justify the high price.

Bose Computer MusicMonitor

Exceptional sound quality, attractive design, easy to set-up

Minor bass loss in far low end of the register

The Bose Computer MusicMonitors are easily the best PC speakers we have reviewed. Considering their lack of a sub-woofer, the speakers produce vibrant rich sound and are a pleasure to use.

Bose Computer MusicMonitor

Laiq and I had recently done a shootout between the Sennheiser 350 and the Bose QC3. The flurry of comments revealed lots of strikingly different views and opinions, but then variety is what it's all about. Ironically, that same week I was invited for...

We have not seen an Indian price yet, as it's not released and all, though the dollar price indicates upwards of Rs 15,000. That's in keeping with the Bose tradition. It would have got an easy 4 out of 5, but the high price makes it a 3.5. A demo is...

Bose Computer MusicMonitor

The Bose Computer MusicMonitors are a compact and good sounding pair of multimedia speakers -- they're just way too expensive.

Vocals have good presence and weight ; Excellent build quality ; Compact

Expensive ; No subwoofer out ; Not suited to action movies or games

As an upgrade to laptop speakers, the Bose Computer MusicMonitors will do nicely. They're compact, good looking, well built and relatively portable -- if you don't mind toting the power brick around. But they are very expensive.

Review: Bose Computer MusicMonitor

Most people like to turn up the bass in music because it really gives it that kick. Duran Duran's "Notorious" definitely wouldn't feel the same without the punchy bass drum accentuated with an eighties bass line. However producing bass is highly...
