Bose Solo TV Sound System Review

In the heyday of CRT picture tube technology, owning a 29" TV set was a status symbol in itself. These bulky displays sported surprisingly well-made inbuilt speakers, while some even featured onboard subwoofers. Unfortunately, sound in TV sets was...

Its 3" height affords a slim, low-profile silhouette that blends in with most TV sets. However, a width and depth of 20.75" x 12.25" means the TV has to be placed on top of the soundbar. This restricts the maximum size of the TV set to 42", and you're...

Bose Solo TV sound system

Bose basically created the "lifestyle" home audio category, so it's surprising the company has been slow to embrace sound bars. Nevertheless, the Bose Solo ($400 street) is a strong offering in the booming sound bar market. It utilizes a pedestal...

The Bose Solo is among the best-looking sound bars available, with a clutter-free pedestal design. The included remote is excellent and dead simple to use. Its sound quality is unambiguously better than a TV's built-in speakers, especially for movies...

The Solo falls short of the sound quality of both other pedestal sound bars and traditional sound bars that include a wireless subwoofer. It lacks a front-panel display, so you won't know if its volume level is maxed out or not. And the Solo's small...

Although its sonic talents are comparatively modest, the Bose Solo is an exceedingly handsome and easy-to-use sound bar.

"Excellent unit for the price"

Others have detailed the fact that you will get what you pay for with this unit. I'd say it is a bargain for the sound and size. Most impressive. I have owned, or now own, about 6 Bkse products, and this one produces the least volume of all but for the...

Excellent sound for the price

Powers itself down and does not turn on automatically. This would not matter if it powered down after a few hours, but, as it is, I think it powers down in minutes.

"quality sound, not loud sound."

opon opening the box for this, there is a note saying how bose uses the finest materials and such to deliver the highest quality sound, reading down on the same letter it talk about not having to much bass, because it not real basically. so you can...

great mid-range volume, it is amazing the quality.

- even with 320kb/s songs you can't have it LOUD(its just asking it to do to much for 4 midrange speakers to do)

"AWESOME SOUND The unit far exceeds any others I checked"

To summarize. AWESOME, GREAT, CLEAR, DIGITAL SOUND!!!

GREAT SOUND QUALITY.

I wish there was some kind of indication of sound level either on the box or to the TV.

"A Realistic Review--I Think"

This 'review' considers the Solo for what it is while addressing a couple of (I think, unrealistic) points made by other reviewers.

Sound quality is very good

Lack of ability to change settings on bass/treble

"Good Solo Act that could be better"

The Solo nicely fits a niche form factor not met by most other sound bar offerings. I wanted to improve the basic sound quality of a Toshiba 37" LCD kept inside a large oak TV cabinet on an extendable swivel stand. I had been using a Sony sound bar to...

Very good sound that is quick & easy to setup. Sturdy build quality with small convenient footprint.

Non-Programmable unit & remote. No volume level indicator or auto-power on features. Slightly expensive considering some features lacking.

"An amazing sound system that blows most systems away."

The price is under $400 and and Bose.com will let you make monthly payments from your credit card, interest free. The time to buy is now, they are on a 2 week back order now but well worth the wait unless you go to a bose store (they probably have some...

Clear sound quality, fills the room with sounds without constantly adjusting the volume controls. Adjusts itself to loud noises and works great with my big living room. No speaker wires to mess with and sets up very easy with one audio cable.

Haven't found a con yet.

Lack of Information

Again this system is great but we need more information

No Big Bose's Bass

Volume no higher than regular built in speaker on TV, but no noise static coming thru.

Easy to install just plug and hear, instructions are too simple, why read look at pictures. Sound is nice and I can hear everything in movies just wish I could get more bass

Cannot adjust bass on this unit, just On / Off . I was looking to adjust for more bass for a Bose's system
