Bose SoundTouch 300 review

Sound bars are more popular than ever, but high-end versions have an issue: their small size means they struggle to compete with traditional, larger loudspeakers. Companies such as Yamaha, Sony, Sonos and Bose, however, have learned how to use your...

The Bose SoundTouch 300 is capable of a gorgeously wide sound field, which benefits both music and movies. The speaker is capable of reproducing both dialog and incidental effects with crystal clarity. The system offers easy-to-use music streaming via...

Losing the remote can be more troublesome than with most gadgets. To get the best sound from the system you'll have pay up to a thousand dollars more for a subwoofer and surround speakers. The sound bar's wide effect only works with bare, unobstructed...

The Bose SoundTouch 300 offers sound quality that betters its Sonos rival, but bass is a weakness without the (expensive) add-on sub.

Bose SoundTouch 300 Review

What the SoundTouch 300 lacks in bass production, it makes up for in clarity and surround sound simulation. Adding a subwoofer to this sound bar would greatly improve the bass production and round out the sound quality to this impressive system....

It has great surround sound simulation.

The bass performance suffers from the lack of a subwoofer.

Adding a subwoofer to this sound bar system could make this the best sounding sound bar system available.

Bose SoundTouch 300 review

This is a beautifully made, precise sounding soundbar

Wide, articulate sonic presentation ; Gorgeous design and build quality ; 4K pass-through with HDCP 2.2 ; Compatible with other multiroom components

Potentially frustrating set up ; Doesn’t come with a subwoofer ; Dialogue can sound a little sharp

The SoundTouch 300 is a beautifully made, precise sounding soundbar. But only those with an HDMI ARC-equipped TV should apply.

Bose SoundTouch 300 review: Slick looking, but audio quality could be better

Gorgeous design, but the price is too high and the sound quality middling

Looks fabulous ; Attractive, easy to use app ; Room adaptive EQ

Expensive for a single soundbar ; Sound quality is good but not great ; Lacks Apple Airplay and Google Cast

For this sort of cash you can land yourself a very decent soundbar and subwoofer setup, a soundbase, or even a full wireless surround setup such as the Philips Fidelio B5 , which not only gives you a wireless subwoofer but also completely wireless,...

Bose SoundTouch 300 review

Can Bose's stylish new soundbar cut it against the competition?

Neat, discreet build ; Loud, expansive sound ; Vast streaming features ; Multi-room potential ; Good app user experience

Sound lacks subtlety and crispness ; Falls short dynamically ; Bass lacks absolute depth ; Needs greater midrange expression

Top points for style and specification, but uncompetitive sound is its undoing

Worst product ever purchased - horrible waste of time and money

Product is one of the worst I have ever purchased. I previously owned a Sonos and traded it in for this device which was the biggest mistake and waste of money I have ever made. Constant issues with the Soundtouch app and fades in and out with horrible...

This thing is amazing! No seriously!

I saw it in store, and immediately HAD to buy it. But the best part is the sound at home was just like I heard in store! Punchy, clear, and loud! I'm a DJ, and this little sound bar (with base module) is louder than one of my massive DJ speakers I use...

Quality is great. You have to add the acoustimass 300. If you are short in cash don't buy the surround speakers they are a bit disappointing. Keep in mind the other speakers still need power (no batteries/ recharging). Installing is easy. App is fine...
