Braven 650 Bluetooth Speaker review

Billed as the “most talented” speaker available, the Braven 650 is certainly a marvel to look at. But is it really as great as advertised?

Impeccably designed, simple yet stylish ; Good sound quality, especially when paired with a aptX capable device ; Long run time (18 to 20 hours depening on use) ; Can be used as a speakerphone ; Can also act as a back up charger for any mobile device...

Expensive ; and that’s about it

The Braven 650 is definitely one of the more advanced wireless speakers in the market today. It’s a great-sounding speaker is boosted by its compatibility with the aptX Bluetooth standard. It can be daisy-chained with other Braven speakers, can act as...

Braven 650 Bluetooth speaker

This portable speaker can play your music and charge your phone

Simple to use, versatile ; Decent sound for its size ; 2000mAh battery should charge most phones

Expensive ; Low-volume hissing

The Braven 650 portable speaker is more than just that -- it’s also a portable phone battery, charging your mobile if you’re not near a power point. It’s as easy to use as any Bluetooth speaker could be, and it sounds pretty good too.

Braven 650 review

We've previously looked at the Jambox and Big Jambox. Now comes another portable, battery-powered Bluetooth speaker that claims to offer even better quality than Jawbone's brilliant devices.

Wonderful construction materials and build quality, good quality sound, power output, audio out, good quality speakerphone

Not all that loud, too expensive

Overall, a terrific speaker. We love the call quality, when it's used as a speakerphone, and the audio for music is excellent too. The built quality is sublime, and even a two-year-old couldn't damage it, even with some accidental dropping. A very nice...

Braven 650 review

Braven is a new name here in the UK, but its 600 range of Bluetooth speakers is well worth looking out for if you need a sturdy and compact set of travel speakers. See all audio reviews.

Apple doesn’t currently support Apt-X in its iOS devices, so you could certainly save some money by opting for one of the less expensive models in the Braven range. However, the sturdy design, robust sound and long battery life of the Braven 650 make...

Pocket rocket...

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?) The Braven 650 arrives in packaging as carefully designed as the speaker itself and with only a single card of instructions (turn on, pair it, play music) much like many Apple products do....

Packs a punch

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?) Having tried a variety of portable speakers in the past, I was very surprised with the depth of sound that this little set was able to produce. I'd say it's one of the best that I've heard,...

Beats the Jambox

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?) Tried the Jambox? Me too, but the Braven 650 is better. Well, I suppose it depends what you're looking for. Loads of bass? Jambox. Best overall sound? Braven 650. The Braven doesn't go...

Excellent.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?) I already have a portable speaker, a cheap little thing that takes three triple As and connects via the headphone port. Predictably its not great sounding and the power doesn't last long....

Unbelievable performance

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?) When this arrived I had to check it was the right item - for the price, I was expecting a big, ghetto-blaster size speaker. And this is pretty small. But: appearances can be very, very...
