A desktop speaker solution that's worth the moolah

Good build, good deep thumping bass, crystal clear highs, 3.5mm jack for audio input, MIC & headphone jack on control pod

No wireless remote, no treble control, expensive

yes...good speakers

Solid. I think it's just an unfortunate thing that some of these RCA connectors are breaking for a few people, but what product ever made is immune to some kind of breakage...if you find one that's perfect, let me in on the news.

Excellent high and lows. Base knob is just another method to adjust if your soundcard EQ isn't enough. Others write "no midrange"...I'm confused. Ever heard of a equalizer? I'm not a Bose worshiper, but these speakers are very adequate for PC usage...

Just a note that the base knob could have been included somehow with the controller that sits by your monitor instead of reaching to the back of the base unit

They sound great

These speakers sound very crisp and clear. With an EQ the mid level complaints are solved. Clean bass. Tiny satelites, i took them off the pedestal and you can barely notice them on the desk

I have owned numerous BOSE products including: three portable WAVE music systems; half-a-dozen home speaker systems; pro audio gear - I play keyboards; and numerous headphones.Never had a problem with any BOSE products until this Companion 3 Series II...

General Sound Quality - the gripes about no-mids are easily corrected with a HQ EQ. The satellites are tiny! Each one is the size of saltine crackers and pedestal consume very little desk space

The left & ; right satellite speaker wires terminate with a very low quality RCA type connector into the sub-woofer amplifier unit. I bought a new desk for my home-office. When I normally disconnected the speaker wire connector both connector wires...

OK sound system

Get Logitech or Klipsch

Design, easy to install, control knob, good trebles and bass, good sub woofer. Good for gamers, although it's not the same sound experience as with a true 5.1 channels

Mid-range kind of lacking. Pricey for the final sound quality. I have a dock for the iPod from Bose so I thought I'd give it a try, but I like the Z-5500 from Logitech better. Only physical controls are the volume and the loudness behind the sub woofer...
