Dayton Audio B652: Great speakers for under $50

 

The ; bookshelf speakers sound great and are available for under $50.

The Daytons aren't the most attractive speakers you'll see. The spring-clip connectors don't securely grip the speaker wire, so an inadvertent tug might yank it out.

The Dayton Audio B652 speakers are the best-sounding stereo speakers you can buy for under $50.

You probably haven't heard of Dayton Audio, but the company is a leading supplier of "raw" loudspeaker drivers and speaker-building accessories for hobbyists. Dayton also sells a line of stereo and home theater speakers, like the B652 bookshelf...

The Dayton Audio B652 bookshelf speakers sound great and are available for under $50.

Affordable and enjoyable is the best way to describe the Dayton Audio B652 bookshelf speakers. They won't wow you with refined sound quality, but they won't make you question your purchase either. These speakers work best as surrounds for your home...

These speakers are affordable and sound solid. Will serve you well as surround sound speakers or speakers for your laptop.

The B652 speakers are underpowered and can’t produce enough volume to serve as your mains. They also lack low-bass response.

If you are on a tight budget, you won’t find bookshelf speakers under $100 that sound as good as the B652. They provide great value and can serve well as your surround sound speakers.

Better than speakers 5 times the price

 

I have used these speakers since Steve Gutenberg gave them a place in the "TOP SPEAKERS UNDER $1,000" post. I Recommend them all the time and have probably purchased eight pair personally. Not great at low volume but at HIGH VOLUME they come alive and...

No Replacement for Displacement. The 6.5in Drivers in these make BIG sound. Most other cheap speakers only sport 4in and if you are lucky 5.25. The sealed box means you can push them HARD. Having no crossover is better then having a cheap crossover.

Not the prettiest speakers (with the grills on). The Spring clips on the back are OK and CAN ACCEPT a banana clip but a 5-way would be better.

Great value for the money!

 

Hooked it up to a Pyle PCA4 amp to run with Pandora, iTunes and Google Music. Worked great out of the box and fills my large room with plenty of sound. The whole setup cost under $100 shipped from Amazon - best upgrade you can find out there!

Sound is clear, speakers fit anywhere, price

There's no way you'll find a better sounding speaker at this price.

How can you go wrong? A better connection on the back would be a plus, but at $30 you can get that part and replace it yourself.

There were no cons that I could find.

Good sounding speakers for under $50..????

 

Most of the time Parts Express has these speakers on sale for $29.00 a pair = 10$ shipping ; you'd be lucky to get a 4' 2 way for that price ( with much less base & power handling ) . For $ 40 dollars , what have you got to loose !

These things are cleaner sounding than you'd expect , and will fit in nicely in most living rooms or bedrooms . There small for a speaker with a 6 inch woofer , but that just makes them more versatile !

The base isn't a con really , teamed-up with an inexpensive powered sub , you'll have a nice sounding cheap 2.1 system .
