Def Tech BP8B

I have these up front,A CS8040HD center,Mythos Gems for rear surrounds and a Yamaha YSW216 sub, wired to a Yamaha RX-V375, Speakers are set to small and crossed over @80, with the sub gain @ 50% in a 14x16x8 ft room and it sounds great for HT,I have...

Crystal clear highs with adequate lows,5yr warranty and at 199.00 a piece, I had to have a set,They sound Fantastic right out of the box,Def Tech says 20-40 hrs break in and at the 10 hr mark,I could hear a difference,A more enveloping soundfield,These...

Amazing Piano

Piano sounds amazing. Movies sound amazing. Bass is very good for what you pay for. The mids and highs are very, very clear. A friend with a big surround system was amazed what these did for home theater by themselves. You will hear things you have...

No built in subwoofer but what the heck do you want for this price? Not great for heavy metal music. That's because the bipolar technology isn't a 'blast at your head' technology. It's a flowing, more symphonic, more surround-type experience

Finally got em

Get em before they are all gone.

Better in every way than my Polk Monitor 60's. Soundstage is so much better, fuller. I have these running with 2 powered subs set at 60hz crossover thru receiver and man do they sound amazing. I wish I had the cash to get another pair and leave em in...

BP8B - stellar!

A little sceptical buying something I couldn't hear first but, decided to go for it based on the great reviews these speakers get from all sites. Plus, getting a pair for the price of 1 normal retail is a steal! In fact, they're a steal at regular...

Room filling sound ; Good base response

None that I can think of

rock the casbah

These rock, have wanted a pair for 10 years and the $199 sale price tag was right. I have a loft-style 1500 square foot condo with 25 foot ceilings. I have no sub and these things still fill the space wonderfully. I keep them about 8-10" from the wall...

Mine are on hardwood so are fine, but I'd guess if they were on carpet they may be a bit wobbley. Also, the top panel isn't on there as good as I though. The connectors are on the bottom of the speaker, so they can be tricky to get to. None of this is...

Love mine! Thinking about more...

Lovely appearance. Great uncolored sound for Jazz, classics, American standards and rock as long as you don't need that "boom boom" bass common on hip hop. Not that bass is lacking it's just very natural and not emphasized. Mine really shine in a large...

Not for every environment, particularly if insufficient space is available behind the speakers. These are tall and could tip over if in a traffic zone (think of kids playing around them)

Really nice sound!

The speakers are really well made and come with a 5 year warrenty so you know that the quality of the parts is very high for them to stand by them that long. I highly recommend these or any Definitive speaker, they are just that good!

Definitive Technology started out with the BP10 and built a company on the back of that speaker. This BP8 was a fantastic 2nd addition to there line. I have owned Bose, Infinity and Klipsch. Def Tec takes them all with there BiPolar imaging in my...

The speakers are full size and might not fit in smaller rooms without standing out. The sock that covers the speakers can start looking ruff if you have a cat with front claws, lol

Best Bang for the Buck!

i already had a pair of BP6's which are now in the rear of a 5-channel music set-up [i have the CLR 2002 in the center]. the BP8's are far superior and the 6's were the best pair of speakers i ever had! as far as music is concerned, a sub isn't really...

great stereo speakers for 2-channel, 2.1 or 5.1 set-up. fantastic sound quality and imaging!!! the best buy on the market for audiophiles on a budget

they weren't free

Speakers great! Longevity no...

Sure they sound great! But after the built-in amps go.. they sound mediocre. None of my amps work now so these are going to the street. (yes they were on line conditioners) The amp electronics are $300 not worth replacing..

Without a doubt great sounding speakers. until ; I actually used them maybe 3 times a year in my Home Theater

The amplifiers only last a few years.. before they pop. I own 4 BLP8s and only 1 remains working. Even center channel amp is gone ; Also: They drain a lot of power! Unplugging them causes a pop that will make you cringe and wonder

Large and small

When someone says these are built only for home theater I will tell you to audition some bipolar speakers locally and then buy these. Music was made for these, you won't feel cheated

The cost for two of these was unheard of. If you have never experienced Def Tech their speakers are amazing.Hooked up to my Denon the sensitivity of these speakers shows, not booming bass, but perfect range for such small drivers and speakers. Takes up...

Not really any except you must allow at least a 24 hour break-in, but all speakers that are worth anything need this. Placement is essential so just move them around a slight bit. They are not my friends B&W's but then again I didn't pay $3500 for them
