Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 350 Bookshelf Loudspeakers Reviewed

The 350 is the smallest of Definitive Technology's StudioMonitor series. At less than 11inch high and only 6 15/16 inch wide, the 350 aims to provide a full range harmonic balance while still maintaining a small footprint. The 8 inch passive radiator...

The Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 350 packs a very impressive amount of technology into a tight, rock-solid, beautiful package ; The StudioMonitor 350 provides a stunning level of neutrality, extension, speed, and accuracy ; The StudioMonitor 350...

The StudioMonitor 350 presents a relatively difficult load to drive, and does not mesh well with entry-level receivers or low power/current amplifiers ; The StudioMonitor 350 needs at least 8 to 10 inches of space around it to sound its best ; The...

The StudioMonitor 350 made quite an impression right off the bat, and only increased its grip as time went on. Its amazing neutrality, musicality, and consistency make it a pleasure to listen to - it never gets in the way (both sonically and...

One of the best sounding bookshelf speakers

These speakers sound absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a pair of small bookshelf speakers for your home audio/video system, you should definitely consider these full range speakers. I bought these on sale for $159.99 (+ TAX) and I'm sorry I...

Well Suited For A Small Room

They are mounted in an unusual way; The shelf holding the components is above the TV, near the ceiling. A painted length of angle iron is mounted beneath the shelf - 'V' up. The front edge of the speakers balance on a soft strip on velcro in the 'V',...

Paired the Def Tec 450s with Integra 40.4 Stereo receiver (and, no, Onkyo and Integra are not the same; Integra is made with better quality components - notably upgraded capacitors) ; Back to the 450s: As noted almost ubiquitously, the 450s lean toward...

The 450s sound vaguely muddy; mostly a break-in deficiency

I use these as computer speakers, so I listen with them at close range. Even though they are power-thirsty, they do well with a cheap 50w amp. Reviewers say they should be both farther from each other and farther from walls as compared to how I have...

They do sound nice and big for their size. The extension of the bass really is phenomenal, and all done without mudding the midrange. Percussion really punches through with these! Build quality is very nice, too. They definitely are small in size for...

Because so much is asked of (essentially) one midrange driver, playing a very bassy song loudly will cut into your mids. This is where a subwoofer would help out. Obviously, the bass does drop off eventually, too. This won't be noticeable unless you...

Great bookshelf speakers!

These are by far the best sounding speakers I have ever owned in the bookshelf realm. The sound stage and imaging that these speakers provide is just outstanding. The 20 LB weight of each speaker stunned me when I first picked one up! Match these up...

Well built MDF cabinets that are sealed and not ported ; Very well built 6 1/2" mid-bass driver with real rubber surround. A 10" passive radiator that really helps with the overall bass response. A high end 1" aluminum dome tweeter that's been annealed...

This is really not a con since it can be corrected but these speakers are a little bit on the bright side ; People with really good hearing will notice this. Older people with some high end sound loss will not

Get them!

I really noticed a difference with the radiators facing in. Much better midrange. and clarity. The bass and imaging was a little better facing out but for me in was the way to go. These really need a good break in. I've owned many speakers, kind of a...

Nice balance and imaging. I don,t think that you can beat these for the prices that Newegg has been charging. I auditioned several speakers some which cost three times the price and these really stood out. Nice clear bass for the size

Don,t love the look but I can live with it

Great Deal

Got these for $138.00, These sound very efficient. using for my front home theater system. More speaker than is needed but sound high end over anything in this price range

Bigger than you think if you don't see them in-person first. You have to screw in the wall hanging brackets. There is no picture instruction to screw these in, just text on how to do it so make sure you understand the instruction

Lots of pros. The look is great, fit and finish is wonderful. I would not wait one more day if you are considering these speakers. The design is perfect for a bookshelf speaker. The tweeter is so nice, smooth, brilliant, music comes alive, enough bass...

No cons, other than they are not a Rosewood finish, but then they take the finish out of the equation and instead give you a HEAVY, well made cabinet, sonically, thick MDF, and the grill look with the highly polished top just look so darn nice. Really,...

Superb Sound in a Tough Enclosure

Got these for a steal on Newegg a couple years back, for $250 shipped. They're still going strong. Driven by a pro audio dedicated 250W X 2 power amplifier, they don't even flinch. In fact, the extra wattage brings them to life! Bonus points for a...

Natural, transparent sound ; Good low frequency reproduction ; Durable
