These Energy speakers produce distorded sound. It's so bad that I threw them out

Nothing compares

Simply put: If these are on sale, buy them. Well worth the money. I have these hooked up to an old school receiver and they work great even though they are only 6 ohms.

Price $99 (would easily pay $299) ; Sound Quality - great clear range, good bass for the woofer size ; Good connectors ; Fills the room or building with sound when turned up ; Everything about these is great

Would be better if the base were a bit heavier to prevent tipping a bit more but great nonetheless

Great For Moderate Listening Levels

These speakers sit on either side of a flat screen, just outside them is a stack of five other pairs of various speakers with a switcher. I have found the Energy's exceptional at low levels which is 95 percent of the time. They are very clear, and the...

These speakers soung great at average listening levels, not so much if you turn them up

All clairity disappears as volume is applied

Crisp and Clear

if youre looking for great overall sound (do not expect these to go super duper low....youll still need a sub for those) at a great price...

fantastic sounding floor speaker - gives you a good amount of sound, small footprint on bass/low end...great clarity for mids and highs...sounds much better than more expensive speakers i have...bought these for my garage - was just looking to break...

wish I would have bought 2 more

Great option for speakers on a budget

I'm running these through my old trusty Pioneer VSX-D608 and they are working like a champ. I'm not one to spend thousands of dollars on speakers, so if you are like me and want something that sounds good for a low price, then these are a great option....

These are great speakers for under $100 a pair. They are often compared to Polk monitor 50 series speakers and I think they sound very comparable, but at a lower price

As mentioned, these are rebadged Jamo 426 model. Not really a con, but that should be pointed out. 6ohm, which some people don't care for

Context is everything!

In terms of overall sound quality, they are voiced in a similar manner as the (new) Pioneer SP-BS21-LR but with a wider and deeper soundstage as well superior bass extension (not a fair comparison since the Pioneer is a bookshelf speaker but I have...

1 - Excellent transient response ; 2 - Very good dynamic range ; 3 - Very good sound stage ; 4 - No harshness until power handling limit is reached

No cons but I need this space for an opinion ; If I didn't already have the Polk 50's and was going to spend $200, I would buy the Energy EF-500's over the Polks 50's. The reason is that this is a speaker that never gets LOUD or fatiguing. The music...

Decent on a budget

This was a bit of an impulse buy for me. I've spent the past few years slowly piecing together a good sounding home theater system. I've always felt my front speakers were lacking in output - they are some basic Sony 5.25 two-ways. I ran across these...

Good, not great sound ; Stylish appearance ; Small footprint

Not very efficient ; Delicate grill

Energy EF-500 Tower Speaker Pair

Good sound quality ; Price (got it for $99 shipped!) ; Looks ; These speakers are great for the money and would put it up against the polk audio monitor 50's in terms of build quality and sound

Great speakers

At 99.99 a speaker I dare you to find something better.

great crisp sound, booming bass if you turn up the bass settings, attractive, and don't require a ton of power to run ; I appreciate the ability to turn the sub off at night and be able to listen to full sound without waking the neighbors

If you turn up the bass they can put out to much bass and not blend well with your sub woofer. They aren't small so it may be hard to integrate into a corner unit(measure first)
