Griffin Amplifi 2.1 Speaker System Review

For the last twenty years, I have been a career musician. It hasn't always been pretty, but it has been pretty fun. Part of my job is to acquire and figure out a lot of different types of musical

Right price ; One Button ; Loud and warm

Lacks hi-fi sparkle and clarity ; Little or no features

Okay, overall I’m really impressed with how the Griffin Amplifi delivers. It’s loud and powerful and will fill a room or patio with the full spectrum of sound. Although it occasionally lacks clarity and sparkle, I could just as easily blame the...

Review: Griffin Amplifi 2.1 Sound System for iPod

New speaker makers-even when they're established vendors of other types of accessories-now instantly raise our suspicions. It's far too easy these days for a Western company to slap its name on a system already on sale in Taiwan or China, raise the...

An all-in-one speaker system that rivals the audio performance and simplicity of Bose's twice-as-expensive SoundDock, sometimes adding additional bass beyond the SoundDock's capabilities. Includes Infrared remote control, easy-to-use power and volume...

Styling and sound signature skew towards bass-loving men, versus the more gender-neutral, slightly smoother SoundDock, and vocals tend to stand out a little, which some users may or may not like. Very limited rear ports, omitting video-out and data...

Dissapointed with the Amplfi. There's a constant chirping and low frequency hum when the unit is switched on. Also the volume control is very imprecise. You can feel the clicks when you turn the knob but it takes three or four clicks before the volume...

More Than a year Rolling and still Awesome.

For 1/4 the price of the Bose, better bass. Nice design. You seriously can't go wrong with this buy. Stop reading the reviews and buy it! This is like the Sennheiser PX100 but on the ipod docks, best Bang for you Buck you can find. Enjoy!

I have had this Sound Dock more than a year ago. I paid about $120 for it. And Let me say it was worth the 120 dollars, And right now is at 72$! Buy it you won't regret it. If you are still comparing the BOSE to this one, here is the difference between...

The only Con in all this time, is that sometimes when using the remote it will not get the signal if you use it diagonal from the Dock. That's about it

For the price you can NOT beat this ..blows away anything i have seen or heard for less than a hundred bucks...if you want a bose system but have no where near the money for it ..buy this...it is classy, built well and most important sounds great!!!

Excellent sound, sleek and sharp lookiing, not to big but has a good heavy feel to it. Nice bass

Remote is average and i havent figured out if i can change albums or just scan through songs with it...no biggie though

Quality Feel

I wish it charged my iPod, so I didn't have to return it. The blue ring that indicates that power is on reminds me of I, Robot and the blue light inside the robots when they activate. It is bright enough to be a night light, but isn't too annoying. ...

Control knob felt the same as you would expect from a high end reciever ; Sound quality is excellent. Two cones point front, one sub points down. Cabinet is quality. The unit has a heavy feel to it. Volume would easily fill a small room. Not a whole...

Did not charge my Ipod Touch gen2. I would suspect that the Iphone 3G would also fall into the category of unsupported charger ; However, the connector did allow for the music to go through and control of the playlist ; The overall size is a on the...

GRIFFIN Amplifi 2.1 Tabletop Sound System for iPod Model 1200-ITSPKR

This thing is VERY bass heavy, but set your EQ to "bass reducer" and all will be well, and you'll hear all the highs(yes, they are there, unlike some are saying) This handled everything I threw at it-Squarepusher, DJ Shadow, Smashing Pumpkins, punk,...

Awesome sound and a small footprint, this is perfect for work. Comes with a ton of plugs, so you can use it in ant country, and has a 3.5mm jack in the back for other mp3 players, or a computer

I didn't order 2 so I can have 1 at home

Just misses the mark.

Other reviewers had commented on the volume issue so I knew what I was getting into. It sounds great and I'm not unhappy that I bought it. May have to use it at home though and substitute a less capable dock in the office.

Great price, solid unit, looks good, performs as well as the other reviewers have indicated, single large button easy to access, and the blue light looks kind of cool in my office

What keeps this from being a 5 is the sudden volume drop off. I cannot set it at a low enough volume to use comfortably in my office. At times I've resorted to connecting the iPod via via the auxiliary jack and controlling the volume with the iPod...
