JBL OnBeat Micro

The JBL OnBeat Micro is a small speaker designed to take up very little surface space on your bedside table or kitchen counter. Beyond that, it's the first speaker dock we've tested to feature the new Apple Lightning connector, compatible with the...

Produces surprisingly robust audio for its size. Docks new Apple iOS Lightning connection devices. Small, desk- and counter-friendly design. Affordable. Portable

Only docks iOS devices with Lightning connection. No adapter included for 30-pin iOS devices. Some distortion at top volumes. No remote control

For a reasonable price, the Lightning connection-friendly JBL OnBeat Micro speaker dock delivers more audio power than you might expect from its diminutive frame.

JBL OnBeat Micro Review

A portable speaker that falls a bit short.

First Lightning dock on the market, clean design

No Bluetooth or AirPlay, average performance, no rechargeable battery

Love the size and ease of using this product. Disappointed in the sound. It sounds good but not exceptional. I also purchased another brand and the sound is exceptional for the same price.

JBL OnBeat Micro

Offering surprisingly decent sound for its small size, the JBL OnBeat Micro makes for a good little desktop or bedside speaker and charging station for iPhone 5 owners.

Compact speaker dock for Lightning-based iPhones and iPods ; Very good sound for its small size ; USB port for charging other mobile devices (and playing audio from them) ; Auxiliary input for connecting to a PC ; Battery-powered option for mobile use

Have to remove cases in order to dock ; Only 5 hours of power from four AAA batteries ; Can't play music from the docked device while a second one is charging via USB
