Jabra Solemate Review

I'm not a big fan of wireless speakers, which is what the cool kids call battery-powered boomboxes these days. Nevertheless, there's a market for these Bluetooth-friendly gadgets that can play music streamed from your smartphone and hold an impromptu...

The battery life is nowhere near the claimed eight-hour mark. I managed to squeeze out anywhere between 5-6 hours depending on the ratio of wired and wireless music playback. However, I must admit that I had been playing the speakers at full blast for...

Bluetooth Speakers are all the range nowadays. Atleast among accessory makers like Logitech who has the Mini-BoomBox, while Jawbone has the Jambox. Even audio...

Loud & Clear mid-range & High-end

Bass distortion in some tracks

The Jabra Solemate is still a great-sounding little wireless speaker that’s very recommendable.

The Jabra Solemate is a Bluetooth speaker with the Jawbone Jambox in its sights, but does it have the sound to match its cool trainer looks?

Unique design ; Impressive sound ; Handy Sound Bag

Price ; Distorts at high volumes

The Jabra Solemate is a portable Bluetooth speaker that like the Jawbone Jambox delivers in the sound and the looks department. It's perhaps no surprise as many of its features share more than a passing resemblance to the Jawbone speaker, but it does...

For once, the hype is near the mark - this little thing can belt out some pretty decent audio for a portable Bluetooth speaker.

Impressive sound quality ; Fairly small ; Rubber foot isolates and grip

Decent enough, but for the money we'd want better sound

Good battery life ; Speakerphone mode ; Rugged design

Treble is a little bright ; Short leash on volume

Jabra Solemate: Sound quality The volume of sound produced is decent: the Jabra sounds bigger than it looks and produces genuine hints of bass, but treble notes are a little bright.

Review: Jabra Solemate

Since MP3 players became as prolific as grains of sand on a beach, so have a plethora of portable speaker devices.

Packs a punch for such a small device; super easy to use; rugged so can handle some knocks

You need a PHD in Origami to get out of the box; some distortion; pricey

Overall I would rate this an above average portable speaker, and would not go amiss around our BBQ area.
