JBL Creature II

JBL needs no introduction; it makes mid-range and high-end systems for homes and cars – and pretty good systems at that. It's one of the feathers in Harman International's profitable cap. This of course is the company that owns and distributes some...

To conclude this weird space trip of a review I can only say the looks of this unit exceed the sonic capabilities, though the latter aren't bad at all. For Rs 5,490 this speaker set is a reasonable purchase, considering you can use it as props at a...

JBL Spot

Touch control and interchangeable shells.

Small satellites don't hog desk space. Interchangeable shells called JBL Wrappers are supercool. Smooth touch controls for volume ; We want more Wrappers

We want more Wrappers

We put the Spot speakers on the spot, and they didn't disappoint.

JBL Creature III Review

I have to admit that I've never been impressed with small speakers, even those designed for computer use. Even worse are those that promise big sound, but

Great Design ; Unique touch controls ; Small, space saving design ; Performed admirably well for its size ; Uniform sound

Treble/Bass control placed on sub ; Power on the back of sub ; Sub could be larger ; Where are cool light effects

JBL’s Creature III  stands out with a unique, modern design that still looks fresh after 8 years. It’s a slightly updated design that that looks even better than the original one. The overall system size is impressively small and should be perfect...

Review: JBL Spot Speakers

Posted by Dr. MacensteinWe have reviewed many impressive speaker systems in our almost 2-year history here at Macenstein, but the JBL Spot speakers are the first time we've gotten a product that was so all around impressive and affordable that I have...

Amazing sound for the size and price, interchangeable wrappers (comes with black and white, additional colors/patterns available for $9.95 – $19.95 each); did we mention the sound and price

None worth mentioning

Pros: Amazing sound for the size and price, interchangeable wrappers (comes with black and white, additional colors/patterns available for $9.95 – $19.95 each); did we mention the sound and price?

Review: JBL Creature II Speakers

A good speaker system for school or office

Easily connects to your Mac or iPod. Makes a design statement

Control sensors on the right were not as responsive as I would like. It is difficult to quickly mute the system. Graphics indicating direction of adjustment for bass and treble are incorrect. Bass and treble controls on subwoofer

Want to delight someone with a gift that reflects your good taste and holiday spirit? JBL Multimedia’s stylish Creature II three-piece speaker system improves the sound coming out of your iPod, Mac, or PC and enhances music, gaming, or movies. Shaped

JBL Creature II 2.1 Speakers

This review is reprinted from the iLounge 2004 and 2005 Buyers' Guides, having originally appeared in November 2004, and been updated in March 2005

As of the date of this review, the best 2.1 speaker system that we've heard for the price. Attractive white plastic and chrome combination matches full-sized iPods to a T. Full bass and treble adjustment allows you to calibrate the sound to your...

No iPod dock included for the (low) price. Intended to stay fairly stationary ; This review is reprinted from the iLounge 2004 and 2005 Buyers' Guides, having originally appeared in November 2004, and been updated in March 2005

Yeah I bought mine today, along with the Universal Dock. I haven't been able to test it out fully but so far I'm really impressed

Excellent sound, top quality design and construction

Good value for money! Sounds a lot better than the "Bose Companion 3"!!! and equivalent to Harmon Kardon sound sticks 2 (H.Kardon SS2 has even more tight and deeper bass)!

The speakers produce clean, crisp and accurate audio... i was amazed to see that there was no distortion in max! Lovely sub! Great, thumpy, deep sound!! And perfect combination of the satellites and subwoofer for a rich and whole music/sound

Well.... NONE!! flawless

Sound great with great styling.

I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Terrific sound quality. Neat styling. It's a real bargain, especially at a major online auction house for well under $150

None to speak of

Great sound for the price. Easy setup. Can be loud.

My GF "confiscated" my Soundsticks III so I bought this one. Cheaper but it can match the sound of the sticks iii. I just watched a movie and could here them stepping on soil/sand. Too bassy for music for my test but overall its ok I guess.

Great sounds from the satellites ; Loud and great for music and movies, specially the soundstage

No remote again

The touch volume control is genius. And the green LEDs underneath the satellite speakers makes it look sinister in the dark, which I really like

None! I love it

Product Specifications

The Northridge E Series EC35 3-way center channel loudspeaker was custom-designed to superbly reproduce the human voice. Many movie soundtracks consist mainly of dialogue, so the center speaker shoulders the burden of filling a home theater. The EC35 easily handles the job. And it's video-shielded, so it can be placed on top of a television. The EC35 performs like a pro, with technology developed by JBL's Professional division. Equipped with JBL's tried-and-true titanium-laminate tweeters and PolyPlas drivers, the speaker reproduces dialogue with extreme clarity. The lows and mids, efficiently boosted by a 3-inch midrange and dual 5-1/4-inch woofers, and assisted by the FreeFlow flared port, are loud and clear, without unwanted distortion or boominess. The Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguide ensures that every seat is the best in the house. Since the transducers were purpose-designed to work together harmoniously, JBL's simple Straight-Line Signal Path (SSP) crossover network divides the signal with minimal processing (and minimal opportunity to degrade the signal). Dual sets of sturdy gold-plated, 5-way binding posts enable bi-amping or bi-wiring. With the high, midrange and low frequencies isolated, the EC35's four transducers can reproduce their frequency ranges more efficiently and with greater accuracy. The computer-designed, lock-mitred cabinet virtually eliminates distortion, and its slim European profile won't overpower your room.
