In order to bring the excitement and clarity of digital surround to smaller spaces JBL has created a unique solution with the ESC333. By "hiding" all the signal processing and amplification electronics within the subwoofer cabinet it can deliver the quality JBL Sound experience in locations where space is at a premium.With two Digital (Optical and Coax) and two analog inputs, the ESC333 is ideal for situations where space is limited and quality digital surround sound is desired. To do so properly, the system is comprised of five ultra-compact, voice matched satellite speakers, a 200mm woofer, 200 watts of audio output power and a sophisticated control system with wireless remote. While the attractive speaker enclosures are visible evidence of the ESC333's performance, the magic and power behind the system is neatly hidden. Unlike other home cinema systems that require a separate electronics package, JBL's designers have hidden all the electronic components and amplification within the subwoofer cabinet. This saves precious desk and shelf space by eliminating another "black box" from already crowded environments. The unit also features late-night compression for nighttime listening without unexpected and objectionably loud interludes. JBL error-free speaker cables allow for ease of connection and eliminate chances of out-of-phase wiring.Designed for easy use, the system features an auto turn on/off circuit that brings the system up to power whenever an audio signal is present. Further enhancing the appeal of the ESC333 is a unique remote IR sensor. With the electronics hidden within the subwoofer, it is likely that the main control panel will be hidden from view in most installations. To permit operation of the unit from anywhere in the listening area, the ESC333 includes a separate remote sensor that may be attached the system's center channel speaker, or in any other convenient location.
