JBL On Stage Micro II

The JBL On Stage Micro II is a solid portable or space-saving option; but the remote is the best thing about this iPod dock. With a $130 price tag, sound quality should be better.

Space-saving design. Can run on batteries for portability. Full iPod navigation on remote control.

Overpriced. So-so audio performance. Distorts at high volumes.

JBL On Stage II

JBL's On Stage II adds a much-needed RF remote to the popular circular speakers. If you're looking for deskworthy iPod speakers with a small footprint, be sure to check out the review.

Sleek, flying saucer-like looks; clear, bright sound; wireless remote; charges and syncs your iPod; adapters for wide range of iPod models.

Heavy, bulky AC adapter; no battery option; so-so bass response; expensive.

The JBL On Stage II's new wireless remote makes these attractive iPod speakers even easier to use, but we're still disappointed by its bulky AC adapter and its lightweight bass response.

JBL On Stage iPod Speakers

JBL's On Stage speakers turn your iPod into the performer it was meant to be.

Charges the iPod, whether powered on or off; stylish; small footprint; dedicated volume controls; includes stereo minijack and cable for use with any audio device; acts as a dock for computer syncing; rich and bright sound for small speakers.

No battery power option--therefore, not truly portable; no remote control.

JBL's On Stage iPod speakers provide a great way to enjoy tunes at home by yourself or with a few friends.

JBL On Stage Micro II Review

In a world near-saturated with iPod docks, JBL still managed to carve a niche with their diminutive On Stage Micro. The battery-powered portable speaker system is now around three years old, and JBL have updated it in the shape of the On Stage Micro II...

JBL On Stage Micro Review and Prices

Big sound in a small body would be the best way to describe the JBL On Stage Micro. Those looking for a small, tight iPod speaker system will want to seek this model out for its great audio and good mix of features. The JBL On Stage Micro takes the...

JBL on stage II

JBL's ring of music design sets it apart from the myriad sub $200 speaker systems for the iPod. Stereo speakers for the iPod generally are designed as two speakers with a center connector like the Altec Lansing inMotion mini or as a wall of sound, a la...

The remote, charging, syncing / docking features and the 3.5mm input make this a versatile iPod accessory that does more than push sound.

JBL On Stage II with Remote Loudspeaker Dock for iPod

Slightly more than a year ago, we reviewed and really liked JBL's On Stage (iLounge rating: B+), a docking speaker system for iPods that was shaped like a small flying saucer and retailed at the time for $200. Recently, the company has quietly released...

An attractive, easy-to-move four-driver speaker enclosure that delivers very good sound, iPod docking, syncing, and charging, and a similarly very good RF-based remote control

As with last year's model, is not portable despite its small size, and therefore confined to use indoors and/or near a wall outlet. Delivers less performance for the dollar than company's excellent and similarly confined 2.1-channel speaker systems,...

After a disappointing experience with Logitech's AudioStation i had to give much more thought to what I really wanted from an ipod speaker. A much smaller footprint. The best sound quality I could get for preferably under $150. Reasonably lightweight...

Diminutive system lacks bass but offers spacious sound and a good feature set

If you're in the market for a small desktop speaker system for your iPod and you don't need battery-powered portability, JBL's On Stage offers open, detailed sound in an attention-grabbing package.

The first thing most people notice about the On Stage is its unique appearance. Like most iPod speaker products these days, the body of the On Stage is made of white plastic with a metal grill. But instead of the traditional rectangular speaker shape,...
