A serious, big, black box Even before you hear the PB12, you'll know that this isn't one of those poser subs; it's the real deal. This JBL is a fairly large, 40-pound cube, measuring 17.5 by 15.0 by 16.0 inches and finished in attractive, faux-wood,...

Solidly constructed; 250-watt amplifier; 12-inch woofer.

Somewhat big; bass can sound too boomy.

This subwoofer has enough oomph to fill even fairly large rooms with deep bass.

"great driver and enclosure"

Took a pb12 and ripped out its blown amp and made it passive, pushing it with a Dukane 1a4250 rated at 280 watts mono at 4ohms and an old peavey Xover ,WOW it really hits hard .was afraid of overloading the amp driving the 2 ohm load of the driver by...

lots of low floor rumble for home theater

the worst amp in a subwoofer ever

"Broken after 1 year of light use. Won't work"

I was happy at first. Sounded great. Now they don't work, can't locate replacement parts. I would advise you not to buy this product.

Nice Cabinet, sounded good while it worked.

Blows fuses, won't work, don't buy, Expensive door stop.

"This is garbage"

I see there is a problem here, my sub blew this weekend and subsequent fuse replacements blow instantly upon turning the power on. What a dissapointment this is.

at one time, it sounded nice

blows up even with little use

"Like Big Bass, GET THIS SUB!"

Huge bass, even though bass is big, it is tight. I highly recommend using LFE and a digital processer, it makes all the difference.

Absolutely none, oh wait, my neighbors say it shakes THEIR windows, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Had this thing for over three years, no troubles yet!

"Will Die and No Replacement Parts"

Box solidly constructed. Great power.

Capacitor blew. No replacement part available. Taking forever to get resolved from JBL and to get a replacement unit under warranty.

Product Specifications

You know why movies are more exciting in theaters? It's all that glorious bass, demanding your full attention and engaging your senses. So if you're ready to experience the full impact of movies and music at home from the best the entertainment industry has to offer, JBL is taking reservations now. The LFE input bypasses the subwoofer's internal, user-adjustable low-pass crossover network, to avoid unnecessary reprocessing of the Low-Frequency Effects channel of the digital soundtrack. The result will rock the room with floor-shaking effects like explosions, earthquakes or even the rumbling of the engines in an airplane. This model features the following inputs: line-level (switchable to LFE) and speaker-level with gold-plated 5-way binding posts.
