Speakers: Main Speakers: KEF Q 15.2

The Q 15.2's mounts its 3/4-inch dome tweeter at the center of its 6.5-inch woofer, the coaxial structure said to offer a"a point source capable of reproducing the entire frequency spectrum with virtually no crossover effects" and with obvious benefits...

I use these speakers for my home audio system, not a home video or surround system as many do. I find these speakers to match well with my system, though I suspect they may not have enough bass for some tastes. My system, (Arcam Alpha 8R and Arcam 8SE...

This is a review for the Q15.2 and this seams the best place for it.I purchased these for my rear surround in my home theater setup, while I was waiting for a pair of KEF RDM2's to appear on the 2nd hand market (No one seems to want to aprt with...

So I'll like to chip in here regarding a few points about my beloved Q15s. Firstly, it is true that the perceived bass roll-off is quite steep. I've been playing a load of drum'n'bass and it sounds like, well, drum'n'... The sub-bass is just...

Uniquely sharp stereo spread, very warm and lovely top-end, powerful mids, and a very accurate sound overall. If you like acoustic music, these will be perfect. Build quality is generally very good, and they are cheap as chips

If you do play a lot of dance music, or want to hear things with unnatural bass, then these are probably not the right speakers for you, at least not without a sub-woofer. But don't blame the speakers for that OK

The best thing about these Q15.2's is their size and the fact that it doesn't matter where you place them. Even against a wall they sound beautiful. Even an old amp like my NAD 3020 sounds makes them sing. One big must: bi-wire them. It matters alot....

KEF have a reputation for making some decent speakers so when I wanted a small pair of speakers for my TEAC Ref 500 system - which was to be used as the 2nd system, I auditioned the ELAC, Polk, Mission and Tannoy 'bookshelf' speakers. The KEF sounded...

Product Specifications

KEF's new-generation Q Series sound much better than conventional speakers in the same price range... a bold claim - until you find out why. Shopping around for quality loudspeakers, you soon realize that what manufacturers hype as 'advances in audio technology' are usually so insignificant as to be almost unnoticeable except under studio conditions. In real life, they make little or no difference. Not so with the latest Q Series from KEF. Like their award-winning predecessors, they deliver unmistakable improvements in sound quality in real rooms. More so now than ever, because KEF has fine-tuned an already outstanding design. Further refined the specification. Fitted even higher-quality components. You will see telltale signs of KEF's innovative audio engineering everywhere you look. Make no mistake, these speakers are worthy inheritors of the Q Series name. If you're after a compact, affordable high-quality speaker with the power to fill your room with big sounds, look no further. Q15.2 gives you all the benefits of the latest Uni-Q technology, and then some. With a new, more powerful magnet system and improved crossover design, power handling and response are more impressive than ever. The distinctive silver cone of the bass/midrange driver has at its center KEF's acclaimed soft-dome tweeter, a point source capable of reproducing the entire frequency spectrum with virtually no crossover effects. Instead of acting separately, both act together to recreate the stereo image over an exceptionally large listening area. Like all Q Series models, this makes Q15.2 very easy to place in the room. It performs equally well vertically or horizontally, and can be shelf or stand-mounted. Bi-wirable and shielded to prevent interference with A/V equipment, it's available in attractive contemporary finishes. Performance, style - and exceptional value.
