Klipsch iGroove HG

With its flexible docking port, Klipsch brings your mobile tunes to your home system, no matter the device.

Power and volume are the iGroove’s only front-panel controls; and the remote offers only power, volume, play/pause, and track forward/back buttons—you must rely on the iPod for everything else. But unlike all too many other docking stations, which...

Klipsch iGroove HG (black)

Stylish iPod speaker system; stereo, two-way speakers; cute remote; charges connected iPod; line-in support lets you use non-iPod music players as well.

Not in the same league as Klipsch's mighty iPod speaker set, the iFi.

Klipsch's new iGroove iPod speaker trumps the competition's tweeterless models.

Klipsch iGroove HG

Klipsch is one of the most respected speaker manufacturers on the planet, dating back to the introduction of the Klipschorn speaker in 1946. The company has maintained this reputation in the 21st century with digital-age products such as the Klipsch...

Good sound quality. Attractive design. Strong output power. J-cup adapter for non-Apple MP3 players gives it aesthetic versatility.

No battery operation. No tone controls. No volume indicator.

The iGroove HG costs less than the Bose SoundDock, but it doesn't quite sound as good. It does have a couple of nice touches, though, and strong output.

Klipsch iGroove HG Speaker System Review

I first saw the Klipsch iGroove HG at an Apple Store a few months ago. From across the store, in a sea of iPod speaker systems there was this curvy black beauty standing out like a diamond in the rough. Before I even heard it, I wanted one. But how...

Incredible styling – best looking product of its kind on the market ; Includes universal adaptor so it can be used with any iPod or portable MP3 player on the market ; Deep bass and clean, pure Klipsch sound

Bass can be boomy when used in a corner ; Remote control ergonomics could be improved ; Remote does not control all iPod menu functions ; No MUTE button

Klipsch iGroove HG All-in-One Digital Music Speaker System

When we reviewed Klipsch's original iGroove All-in-One Digital Music System (iLounge rating: B) in late 2005, we noted that the company had aimed for 2004's target accessory, Bose's SoundDock (iLounge rating: B+), and missed by a little in sound,...

A solid all-in-one speaker system with unique styling, a remote control, adapters for mini, nano, and non-iPod docking audio devices, and a lower-than-Bose SoundDock price. Smooth sound, good bass, and relatively low distortion at higher volume levels

Some amplifier hiss evident in acapella tracks and/or at close distances. Remote control isn't the best we've seen in an all-in-one system, even by Infrared standards, achieving around half the distance of SoundDock's. Not as much sound adjustment or...

Klipsch iGroove HG Review - iPod Speaker Review @ MP3 Player Edition

Klipsch Audio Technologies is a company known for its high-quality horn-loaded speaker systems, and that quality has made them a leader in the audio industry for more than fifty years. In 2005, Klipsch released their first speaker system designed for...

Stylish & Compact Design; Great Sound at Low-Mid Volume; $199 MSRP

Considerable Distortion at High Volume; Short Ranged IR Remote

Though the iGroove is stylish, its $200+ price tag is too high for a product with its performance. The unit lacks an RF remote, has no syncing option, has no battery option, cannot output video signals to a TV or monitor, and produces a large amount of...

I bought my iGroove HG off my brother-in-law last Christmas. He had both an iDock and the iGroove side by each in the den. Tried both...iDock was good; iGroove made me play SRVs 'Lenny' a dozen times over at all volume levels. I use it all over the...

"Great iPod Dock, but doesn't equal the sound quality of Bose."

I like the iGroove for it's great looking design, though I would have to disagree with other reviews that might say that the sound is better than that of Bose's SoundDock... The SoundDock hands down just sounds better and more realistic without the...

You can find this product priced at $150 and lower sometimes, Great bang for your buck, Good sound Quality, nice design

the dock seems just a little flimsy and doesn't hold my ipod very well unless you really stick it in there, retail priced the speakers are not worth $300.

Product Specifications

Born to rock any room, the iGroove HG is a convenient all-in-one digital music system that delivers audiophile-quality sound everywhere you need it. With its stunning high-gloss black finish and class-leading technology, this dynamic performer turns ordinary MP3 players into high-style, high-performance entertainment centers. Unlike other docking speaker systems on the market, the iGroove HG works with most all MP3 player brands, as well as any gadget that has an audio out or headphone jack utilizing a standard miniplug, including cell phones, gaming machines and portable satellite radios. All third and fourth generation dockable iPods dock into the unit for charging. Special iPod mini and nano adaptors come with the system for secure docking, while the shuffle and other devices connect via the included "universal" J-cup adaptor. A true two-way system, the iGroove HG gets its dynamic soul courtesy of dual 2.5-inch woofers in a ported enclosure, premium crossover networks and dual 1-inch MicroTractrix Horn-loaded tweeters. Aside from its silver predecessor, the iGroove HG is the only speaker system in this category utilizing horn technology, a highly efficient design that reproduces genuine, lifelike sound. In addition to easily filling a room with smooth, crisp sound, the iGroove HG is also extremely simple to operate. All you have to do is plug it in, pop in an iPod and hit play. The included IR handheld remote handles full system control, while the integrated handle makes toting it around a breeze. So, are you ready to get your iGroove on?
