Klipsch RB-81 Speaker System

When I ran across the Klipsch RB-81—in the newly renovated Reference Series—I couldn't resist ordering a set. It's been years since I've reviewed a two-way design with a great big 8-inch woofer. The very concept brought on one of my increasingly...

Fantastic Speakers

Incredible sound. I urge you to find a better speaker with better sensitivity (-97dBm) for this price point. I really wanted to buy some other speakers based on the way they look or their brand, but I'm really glad I got these.

OUTSTANDING

I AGREE WITH 100 PERCENT,WITH THE OTHER REVIEWER OF THE RB-81 II BUT THESE SPEAKERS ALSO TAKE A GOOD 100 HRS. TO BREAK IN OR BURN IN. PLUS THESE SPEAKERS REALLY CRY FOR YOU TO USE A FULLY INTERGRATED TUBE AMP. 10 TO 25 WATTS AT LEAST. BUT DONT GET ME...

Klipsch RB-81 II (Black)

This is a very good speaker which can you can display with confidence that it is among the better bookshelf speakers. I have many of the fine Klipsch reference speakers in an 11.2 system where they serve well as surround speakers. I'm sure in a smaller...

Klipsch RB-81 II (Black)

These speakers sound fantastic for rock music, funk rock, country, hip hop, and most other genres. I love their seperation and detail. They do provide adequate bass, but for large rooms a powered sub might be in order. I have used them both ways and...

Klipsch RB-81 II (Black)

Well what can I say, these speakers were the ones that let me fall in love with music. I auditioned other speakers in this price range including Polk, Infinity, Mirage, Paradigm, and others, but these were the ones I kept coming back to. Granted, there...

Product Specifications

A towering achievement in a bookshelf design, the Reference Series RB-81 delivers unrivaled audio performance for those who demand the very best. With its high-end materials and cosmetic elegance, this flagship model is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Exclusive Tractrix Horns have always been the key component of this critically acclaimed series. In the RB-81, this technology has been refined to include improved throat geometry for a more genuine, lifelike sound. Behind the horn lies a 1-inch titanium tweeter with a large ceramic motor structure to provide a unique combination of precision, clarity and effortless power. The RB-81 employs an 8-inch woofer for a solid bass foundation. This Cerametallic woofer with inverted copper dust cap exhibits a very high stiffness-to-mass ratio and superb damping characteristics. The RB-81's front-firing port eliminates turbulence noise and makes installation into custom cabinetry a breeze. Increased baffle ribbing around the horn mouth dramatically improves acoustics across the sonic range. For signal purity and perfect driver integration, the crossover on the RB-81 features the finest components and Klipsch custom internal wiring. The RB-81 comes with a low-diffraction, magnetically attached grille to further accentuate the elegance of this speaker.
