Klipsch RW-10d Powered Subwoofer Reviewed

The RW-10d provided a "very big, boomy sound with movies and games." On music, it "exhibited good speed, particularly on rock and electronic music." Overall, it featured "an overall presence that belied its small size," and offers "a great...

The RW-10d offers good performance with movies and games, addingweight and punch and an overall presence that belied its small size ; The RW-10d provides a superb digitally-controlled top panel userinterface, which adds flexibility, versatility, and,...

The RW-10d sounded a bit heavy and slow across music material, especially classical and jazz material ; The RW-10d lacks a high-pass crossover output, which could limit bass control options for some users

The RW-10d draws a very nice line between rocking the house anddelicate bass reproduction. As a smaller design, it doesn't rattle thewalls like bigger designs, but it also tap dances better than thoseproducts. It's a great down-the-middle solution,...

Excellent choice for home theater and music enjoyment.

In spite of the fact that my RW-10d has quit on me, I would recommend this for your home theater. While it is in the shop I miss the nice fill that it has given to my movie and TV entertainment. If you add this sub to a set of ... Expand full review

Has good clean and crisp sound, a Klipsh trademark. This sub-woofer, while only a 10", has deep, hard hitting bass with good punch for most genres of music and very good response for a theater like effect while watching home movie DVD's

I have had my RW-10d for about 3 years and it will not power on. I was disappointed to find that there was no fuse to protect this unit from a power surge. If you are looking for a very hard hitting sub-woofer with lots of punch, this is not it

Sweetness.

Just a thought, this thing is awesome. I live in an apartment, so the bass is too much sometimes, but as stated in other reviews, the volume is adjustable on the top buttons. I would recommend that you use your receiver to adjust the volume of the sub....

Died after 6 months; great until then

This RW-10D is driven by Home Theatre and XBOX Gaming. It is NOT driven hard. House is protected by external whole house suppressor and Home Theater by dedicated UPS. Power is not the issue. Dead after 6 months? Really? Klipsch? The Klipsch speakers I...

Sounds Great

New to Klipsch

I'm not an expert at any of the audio or video stuff. But I do like and appreciate high quality when I hear and see it. Several years ago I bought a sound system in a box when I purchased a big screen.. Even though I knew at the time this was a...

Good Sub - Great Price

Good sub for the $$. I use it in a second home theater setup in the basement and does a decent job.

Good RMS for a 10" ported sub ; Settings controlled through digiital interface on top of sub ; Three separate presets can save specific sub settings for music, movies, etc ; Klipsch brand ; Bass seems stronger/punchier than my Infinity PS-10

Settings controlled through digital interface on top of sub. Conceptually this is cool, but it's a bit cumbersome ; Can get a bit "boomy". Might just need to fiddle with sub placement

Great upgrade over my old 8" sub

I have a large living room (26'x12') with multiple openings and this sub does a great job at filling the space. When I moved into an apartment, I downgraded my Paradigm PS-1200 and settled for an Energy ES-8. It sounded OK and I lived with it for a few...

Plays loud and deep for a 10 ; Ability to disable crossover ; Presets are great for late night viewing without waking the neighbors ; Price

The port came loose during shipping and I had to open up the box to put it back in place ; Made me start spending more money to upgrade my other speakers

This thing is a beast, buy one now!

I recently got the Energy Take Classic 5.1 surround sound speaker system. The subwoofer in that system however is only an 8 inch and was lacking the bass note that I was looking for. So I started looking around for a replacement. I stumbled on this one...

Product Specifications

The RW-10d shakes things up by employing a 10-inch front-firing Cerametallic woofer and a 260-watt RMS amplifier. Exclusive Corner Port Technology allows the subwoofer's port tube to be as long as possible without bending, minimizing turbulence that can cause port noise and distortion. It also allows the enclosure to be tuned to a lower frequency than would otherwise be possible to create deeper bass from a smaller cabinet. Another important element is a corner-shaped flange at the port's internal opening, which amplifies the benefits of a longer port. For quick and easy adjustment of all functions, the RW-10d features the DCS digital user-interface that includes three equalization modes (flat, depth and punch) and three user-adjustable presets (music, movie and night) to create specific listening preferences. This extraordinary subwoofer also comes with an IR sensor for operation from any learning remote or control system.
