Klipsch RW-12d

In conclusion, the Klipsch RW-12d provides the same quality bass that audiophiles have come to expect from the Klipsch line of speakers. Those looking for deep, thumping base, that may be strong enough to bother your neighbors, will fall in love with...

Klipsch RW-12d Powered Subwoofer Reviewed

The RW-12d is one of Klipsch's larger models and our reviewer remarked how this model "rocked the listening area and never stopped." It added "a tremendous amount of weight and kick...[but] also seemed in control...It provides a "superb digitally...

The Klipsch RW-12d offers excellent performance with movies and games, providing a tremendous amount of weight, punch, and extension to the experience

The RW-12d needed more speed, accuracy, and transparency on music material, occasionally falling behind the material and sounding a bit plodding and boomy ; The RW-12d lacks a high-pass crossover output, which could limit bass control options for some...

The RW-12d does a lot of things very well, and some superbly. In the Klipsch tradition, it rocks the house with movies and games, and adds oodles of enjoyment to the experience. With music, it sounds more than respectable, and very good on occasion,...

Outstanding for Home Theater applications!

Judging any speaker is very subjective. There are so many considerations. I've read many positive reviews regarding HSU, Aperion and SVS. Some of these subs many be a better value but unfortunately it's difficult to get a feel for their sound since...

Plenty of Power! Provides 3 sets of adjustments to customize/tweak the sound for different listening modes(movie, music & gen.) & different environments/equipement. These adjustments sets this 12" single driver sub apart from some of the competiti

No remote included but has IR sensor which can be set to a universal remote. Instructions could be more detailed and complete. Very long cabinet but this is probably what makes this sub perform so well. Performs better for movies than music

Outstanding value for the price

Most people do not understand what is meant by the broad stroke brush we use in America called "bass". For the record, "bass" is actually a musical instrument...a guitar or an upright, stringed bass. In audio terms, you SHOULD be talking about things...

Delivers the sort of sound you would expect from an entry level low frequency transducer (an LFT) at a fraction of the price...when on sale. I waited and watched Newegg until I found it at $249 with free shipping. That's simply unbeatable given its...

I don't really have a con. I've read where some others have received theirs damaged but mine came through fine and whole. I've had several dealings with Klipsch down through the years and have always been treated with respect and fast service by their...

Big Box, Big sound

I upgraded to a larger sub woofer after my old sub woofer went out. Boy did I upgrade. This unit produces thunderous bass and has an easy to setup display. On sale it was less than $300 and perfect for my large theater room

The unit is a BIG box. That is the only real con here. If you have a small room, I'd go for a smaller woofer. You can't go wrong here if you want a large boom out of a large box

Super sale price

The sub showed up with everthing in tact and no damage what so ever. The port was perfect. Alot of complaints of damage in shipping. I must say, I have never seen such good shipping. The Klipsch box was inside another even better padded box. The...

Has a pretty good sound all in all for a ported box. I ussually only buy M&K subs. I thought I'd give this one a shot as my M&K needed replacement ; All in all this is rock solid for the price ; I still prefer the sound of the Miller Kreisel... But for...

Slightly muddy... Not bad, but not as tight as previous subs. Again, for the money I couldn't find better

Caught my blunder

So, lying, telling my receiver that the sub was CLOSER to me, didn't advance its response... can't imagine why. Telling it that the sub is further away, on the other hand, that should help a little. Oh, and I finally read the ad copy closely enough to...

Not bad, not great

I am a recovered audiophile. I've lost the snobbery, but I still have my experience, and I know good from bad. To understand my opinion, you must know that, if this sub were not fairly good, my review would be much worse. This is the first sub I've...

Price was good. I've heard much worse. Phase adjustable by 10 degree steps. Deep response, solid punch. Not painfully slow/ muddy/ bloomy, if you keep the cutoff low (above 80Hz gets yucky fast). Handles high volumes reasonably well - sound doesn't...

Not fast or musical. Sounds behind main channels. (On my receiver, I've set the sub's distance at 5ft, which doesn't help much, but doesn't hurt. I will experiment with advancing phase, as well.) Keep the cutoff at 60 or 80Hz, and the volume a little...

Product Specifications

The RW-12d shakes things up by employing a 12-inch front-firing Cerametallic woofer and a 340-watt RMS amplifier. Exclusive Corner Port Technology allows the subwoofer's port tube to be as long as possible without bending, minimizing turbulence that can cause port noise and distortion. It also allows the enclosure to be tuned to a lower frequency than would otherwise be possible to create deeper bass from a smaller cabinet. Another important element is a corner-shaped flange at the port's internal opening, which amplifies the benefits of a longer port. For quick and easy adjustment of all functions, the RW-12d features the DCS digital user-interface that includes three equalization modes (flat, depth and punch) and three user-adjustable presets (music, movie and night) to create specific listening preferences. This extraordinary subwoofer also comes with an IR sensor for operation from any learning remote or control system.
